The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
I seen this WP top 10 list from Nov.22, 2002. So I think to myself what type of hometown newspaper are you running. A newspaper that cant update 7 season of nail bitting finishes.
washingtonpost.com: Redskins-Cowboys: What's Your Favorite? Now I know its the off season and its a drag. If your are anything like me you wake and sleep with skins on your mind, any news satisfies the thirst be it speculation or just pictures of mini-camp. So what I'm asking is why dont we put our own list together and see if we cant get the WP to maybe update their article. I know we have smart passionate fans on The Warpath. I know a few of my personnel favorites but I'm intrested in what my fellow brothers think.

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
Both 2005 games were amazing... probably the best. That 2006 blocked field goal miracle play was amazing. It was virtually meaningless, as we went to 3-5, but it at least meant a little something at the time..and wow, I still get chills watching those highlights.
The win in Dallas in 2008 I have a pretty big soft spot for as well. The 2007 win to get into the playoffs by 21 was amazing too... Really though, this decade its Monday Night Miracle. Nothing else in the grand scheme can really touch that.

Tough Call but I loved the 35-7 Beatdown in 2005! I still see Cooley destroying Dallas LOL

Well anytime we beat dallas its a damn good game in my mind. There have been a few since Gibbs return in 04. Before 04 btw 95-04 we just got owned.

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
-The final game of 2007, We held Dallas to -1 yard rushing and earned a hard fought playoff birth. We all remember all to well the months that led to that game,it was make or break. Then there was the Shean Taylor autographed just beat Dallas pic.
Dallas fans will always cop out and say thay had nothing to play for, but I watched the game with a house full of Cowboy fans and they hated every second of that game, they knew that game ended their season. Everyone seen they were getting beat up so bad they started pulling players out. Dallas never recovered from that game, we broke their spirit, snatched all their confidence, they were Super Bowl bound until they met us. That game right there might be my most favorite game against Dallas. The way we just beat the hell out of them, and how they could never recover after that game. They were favored to win it all, but after that game thats when Romo really started getting all the he's a CHOKER talk. I cant say where I would rank it, but just thinking about the way we pushed it to the limit with 5-6 games left, and Dallas sitting there just waiting to walk over us, and we knock their teeth out. What a game that was. I loved it!!!!!!!!

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
I will always remember the MNF game at Dallas with the two long passes from Mark Brunell to Santana Moss. I was only 17 and only been watching football for a few years. My whole family had gone to bed since they were so negative, and the way that game was going they thought there was no chance in hell for a victory. I remember watching it in the living room and when the first TD happened, I was just like "okay." But, after the second one went through I just started screaming and everyone woke up and watched the last few minutes with me.
Priceless. |

It has to be the MNF game, that night Moss proved that he could be a true number one if someone was adept enough to consistently give him the ball.

Are we talking all-time? Because if so, for me it has to be the 1982 NFC Championship Game. 2005 was nice. But the '82 championship game was the official sign that Gibbs' Skins had arrived and put us in the Super Bowl

I liked the last game at the old stadium. Then we blew it up!

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
The 1982 NFC Championship game will never be topped in my mind. Some older fans may prefer the 1972 championship game but those have to be the top 2. As for the last 7 years the only one that is truely memorable enough to crack a list like that would be the 2005 MNF game in Dallas.

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
I'm not sure of the year but I think Troy Ak. had been playing for a few years. The game was close or just past the two minute warning, Dallas had the lead, but we had them pinned against the goal line. All they really needed was a first down and Troy went back to pass. Before he could get the ball out someone sacked him and knocked the ball loose and we scored the go ahead points. The old stadium was rocking and we went on to win. My father a big skins fans was sitting in Jerry Jones box (long story) and had to sit on his hands out of respect. The Moss/Moss game still has to be one of the best.

Re: The warpaths: Top 10 redskin-cowboy games?
can't remember what game but it was at old RFK and Theismann spiked the ball at a Dallas player's head after he ran it in. Caused a huge fight. Also 1983 in dallas: after the redskins scored, the fun bunch gathered for their patented "high five" and everson walls got all butt hurt and tried to break it up. they did it over him anyway... and a fight broke out. Awesome.
