I can't take anything worse than what Brunell has been doing.

Well, the passing game improved right away with Ramsey.
He threw for over 200 yards in a little over 2 quarters, something Brunell only did twice all year. Brunell wasn't our only problem on offense, but he was a pretty major one. |

One thing that MIGHT get worse is the turnover rate. Up until the Bengals game, MB didn't really turn the ball over...of course when you're throwing the ball in the ground or out of bounce its kind of hard to throw ints. I think our scoring will improve and hopefully we'll score more points, but it's going to come down to a battle of which team has the most turnovers cause we know that PR is going to throw his share until he gets comfortable...I hope not BUT considering that he could have easily thrown six interceptions in the last game....more than likely we're going to turn the ball over. I just hope the INTs he does throw will be from long bombs down the field that would be good as punts anyway. Not putting PR down though, don't get me wrong I am glad he's in there, but we cannot afford to turn the ball over to teams like the Eagles and Steelers.

But I do agree with another thread that states Ramsey may stink it up the next two games. That being said it still won't be near as bad as Brunell. Ramsey will get better each game he plays. |

Brunell threw 6 picks in 9 starts, which is pretty good, but let's not forget the fumbles too. He fumbled 6 times, losing 3 of them.
That's a turnover per start. |

We now have hope, we didn't before and I think the whole offense will rally around PR.

I believe we had the 31st ranked scoring offenese and Brunnell was a major factor. In Ramseys two appearances the offense has been able to move the ball through the air, that's a definate improvement. Although like some have pointed out sacks & ints are also going to increase. With Ramseys limited time practicing with the first team he will have his share of problems & with the toughest part of the schedule coming up I don't expect him to look like the second coming of joe montana. What I do expect is a balanced offense. He will make some spectacular throws and probably a lot of real bad throws. I think Gibbs needed to see first hand what he has in Ramsey (franchise QB or trade bait) letting him play is the best way to evaluate him. I'm optimistic though, I know he threw some balls this weekend that left us scratching our heads, but with more playing time I think his decision making will improve.

i say ramsey comes in and throws for 45 TD's the rest of the season and gets league mvp. ok, maybe that's a bit lofty..... well a lot lofty but at least we do have hope now.

We'll turn the ball over more, for sure. However I've said and still say that I'll trade that in for what production I think we can get. I think our passing game is automatically considered a bigger threat which should open up Portis. Furthermore, I think our passing game will be better on top of that. I defintley think he will make a difference.

The offense will improve...especially the passing game. Hopefully that translates to a win...

It's going to be better, but playcalling was a big factor in PR's passing yards. We had to let it fly because we were down 17-0. That said, when it was flying, it was flying a hell of a lot farther and faster with PR throwing it.

And if a few picks are the price to pay for a passing game, then so be it. |
