Kinda feel bad for him. He built his whole offense around WInslow and boom. They have a great young RB in green, a great fullback, good WRs, superb potential at TE, and a decent QB.

Butch Davis fired all of his offensive coordinators two years ago; then he fired all his defenisve coordinators last year. Or was it vice vers?

He pulled a political power play in the front office to get Dwight Clark and Carmen Policy outta town.

Now the team is "underachieving" and there just isn't anyone left for him to point the finger at. Twelfth in the conference in offense and eleventh in the conference in defense doesn't get it done.

The Jimmy Johnson coaching tree hasn't been all that great has it? Wandsttedt, Norv, Campo, Butch

smootsmack:

Neither has the Joe Gibbs coaching tree been very "productive".

Bugel, Pettibone, Hannifan, Cameron.

Now I'll grant you that Bugel had two awful "opportunities" going to ARizona and Oakland and Hannifan was also with Arizona, but none of these four had much success as HCs.

SC, I know it hasn't been productive and I knew that you'd be the one to bring it up

Firing your head coach in the middle of the season is a pretty dumb move. It hardly works for the best.

Don't forget Dan Henning, former head coach of the Chargers, he was Gibbs OC for a while. I think he's OC of the panthers now

Davis wanted the power and with that comes ultimate responsibility.

I can't say this comes as a surprise.

Here's a good poll question:

Who gets fired first Butch Davis or Jim Haslett?

Depends on if the Saints show any life down the stretch.

If they continue to falter Haslett will have a hard time keeping his job.

I wonder if there will be anymore college coaches moving up to the pro ranks to fill some of theses possible vacancies. Can you think of any ex-pro coaches that might come back?

I'll say Butch Davis just because they basically said if he dosent win this weekend, he's out. Outside of Davis, there's no coach in the league more fired than Haslett.
