LOL @ Redskins

What a joke. At home, coming off of a bye week and you can't be bothered to prepare for Vick or show up for the game? Out coached, out played and made to look like little bitches on national TV. Worthless.

Re: LOL @ Redskins

Offense is worse than last year. Defense is worse than last year. Worse team than 09?

On the other hand, special teams are much better overall. Just looking for some positives.

Exactly, what's even more shocking is the koolaid drinkers who have the audacity to give Shannhan a B on this coaching job. Frankly, it's been no better than Jim Zorn's team.

The offense is better than last year. Granted, we're not converting 3rd downs any better, but we are scoring more points.

The main problem is the defense, and it's not from a lack of talent.

It's not really any better in any way, unless we consider this 28 point outburst to be a step in the right direction instead of a step backwards. Maybe it is a positive that just appears to be a negative. Who knows? It certainly seems like if it was a worse offense coming in (which it was), then it was worse than that coming out.

The defense has talent, but I think we're playing a lot of the wrong players. We start a number of bad players on our defense, which I think takes a unit that could be strong, and makes it mediocre at best.

I think Haslett deserves the whole season to right the ship because he shouldn't be required to bail out the offense AFTER Shanahan spend all the offseason resources putting his guys on the offensive side. This isn't like last year where Blache had all the shiny new toys and no idea how to use them. Haslett pretty much had to take last year's personnel and win with it. So now it's on him to send the losers on the defense to the bench so guys having great years like Landry, Fletcher, and Alexander can continue to shine without being overshadowed by badness.

If Haslett can't get more out of this unit, he deserves to go. But he also deserves a legitimate chance to get more out of this unit, because outside of Carriker and Kemo on the front, these aren't "his" guys. These are Vinny's guys he's trying to win with.

No excuse for tonight. Will they fold it up or bounce back is the real question

Hopefully bounce back, but changes need to be made. Galloway has got to go, we need a healthy RB besides Williams (Portis, Torain and Simpson are/have been hurt) promote Davis. They need to forget about the playoffs and concentrate on the future by playing young players and finding out what they have to offer. Williams and Darrell Young looked good tonight we need more of that.

Re: LOL @ Redskins

We are the second oldest team in the NFL...Are we destined to be a team of underachieving old farts under Snyder ownership? Every time they mention old teams on national TV the Redskins are leading the pack. I envy teams like Chiefs and Bucs. They reloaded and they can only get better with time. We got to get younger and faster.

We may still salvage this season yet, but I don't understand those who see some sort of secret rebuilding project in the McNabb and Jammal Brown. The "two-steps backwards is actually three steps forwards" rebuilding argument boggles the mind. The fact that we're not rebuilding doesn't mean that we're quietly rebuilding

We found some young contributors in Trent Williams, Keiland Williams, Brandon Banks, and perhaps Perry Riley, plus some less young contributors in Anthony Armstrong and Lorenzo Alexander. Hope for the future is not all lost. But we're still down some picks next year, and we have absolutely no building advantages over any other team in this league. All we have is hope that this track is the right track.

The fastest way to get younger and faster, not to mention less cap prohibitive is to stockpile and make wise draft picks. It's time to stop thinking that we are a free agent away from a deep playoff run. Teams like New England, Philly, and Green Bay are loaded with young players selected through the draft. Snyder always seems to be on a 2-3 year plan without sufficient picks to get younger, so we build more through FA than through the draft. We've had it backward for years, and will continue to be mediocre at best until we change our approach to building the team.

We can also trade away guys like Fletch and Moss for picks. However, not only is the number of picks is important, but which year the picks are in, as some draft classes are stronger than others.

Re: LOL @ Redskins

any coaching change is crazy......our 2011 draft 1st and 2nd picks need to be RT and C respectively. We need to bring in 1 FA WR....(vincent jackson?). We should keep Moss for the slot and you have AA and VJ on the outside.

No more trading draft picks...for anyone!!!!!!!!

Honestly, EVERYONE on this site should agree that drafting OL is the only solution going forward. Dont believe me??? Look at the giants and eagles.....their drafts are not steller in terms of excitement....BUT get the job done in the trenches.

After watching last night this ^^^^^is a must! With Vick it seems like we are seeing the next generation of QB. Only problem is, everyone else is playing old school. It was weird to watch. He would stand there and draw us in and then shake us like 8 year old children.

We put up 28 points but unfortunately that still does not cut it. We need a more explosive offense as well.

I don't think we are worse than 09' I just think we are playing teams that are also better than 09' and the result on the field is all relevant.

It's obvious we got a long way to go. Not sure if it's all personnel or we just need more time together as a team and system. Probably a mixture of both. We do need to get younger and faster for sure.

As bad as it was last night, we did have some glimmers of good football play. It wasn't a complete blowout. And considering we were down 30+, I think we made a game of it as well as can be expected. I mean I was feeling disoriented, the players must have been completely shell shocked.

I did like Williams.

Yep. People laughed on here when the "rebuild" question was asked. I do feel like we need to a major overhaul. We need it. We're not as bad as we looked last night but we're not far from it.

I thought the VC era was going to take a few years to fix. It may take 5 - 10 years to fix.
