I know it's been discussed in other threads but new signings get new threads so....

Re: Redskins Sign DB Cedric Griffin

At what point are we over quota on Griffins?

Next signing, Peter Griffin?

I hope Raheem Morris can help him, it doesn't bode well that Leslie Frazier couldn't.

He's an experienced body for the secondary who is better than Byron Westbrook.

Word! I like the signing, he was a solid player that had 2 acl tears unfortunately, takes a while to come back from that, he should be more healthy this year. And he is a DB that can possibly play safety for our team! I like it. I want Aaron Ross too if at all possible.

Guessing that means no Aaron Ross.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Wrong. We still are having Aaron come in and visit today. He lands this afternoon. But it could mean no DHall. Also as others have mentioned Griffin was looked at as a possible FS.

No D Hall I would say is a probability at this point. De angelo had some nice picks, but his mouth and soft coverage is detrimental. I like what we are doing in FA thus far. Very nice. I still wish we didn't have to break the draft bank for RG III. Using FA and the draft to build would have sped our rebuilding up. It might be not til 2014 til we are really ready to tear up the NFC East.

Re: Redskins Sign DB Cedric Griffin

I like this signing. He came cheap (2.5M) and could be a high reward player for little risk. There's a chance he's still not completely healthy, but we'll see.

Ross is still coming in to visit. Not totally out of the realm of possibility they sign both.

I know two current DBs are barely holding onto their Redskins jerseys

Also, Griffin could play safety

It'd be great move if we signed Ross, and if so Barnes and Westbrook have would be cut, which is just as good.

Re: Redskins Sign DB Cedric Griffin

The signing isn't official. He supposedly hasn't put pen to paper, and after Eddie Royal I think we all should wait for more than just the WP to report it as an official signing.

Re: Redskins Sign DB Cedric Griffin

Daseal, did we really give Cedric Griffin $2.5 million? I haven't seen it reported anywhere, so that's why I ask.

Philip Buchanon had one really good year here, and Griffin is at the same point of his career that PB was when he had that career, so this seem like classic bargain hunting.

Nothing wrong with this deal. He competes for a job and we see what happens. If he's healthy again and in shape, he might be able to help us.
