Mr King's Take on Campbell
Thought the quote was interesting:
"I think, when history judges this draft, one of the best five players in it will be Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell, who went to Washington at No. 24. That isn't to say Washington did a smart thing, paying a ransom for the pick -- particularly when it already has another quarterback there who's good enough to win with and considering Joe Gibbs will be at some racetrack by the time Campbell is an experienced starter. I'm just commenting on the quality of the player. He's good. Hmmmmmm, true probably in every sense, including the racetrack prediction.

I never knew I would say this, but I hope Peter "Burger" King is right about Campbell.

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
I hate Peter King, he sucks. Everyone is dogging the skins on their draft and with making questionable picks this draft cannot be judged for a few years......

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
The Skins gave up a boat load to get Campbell. I have to thnk they saw some extroadinary abilities that no other QB with his experienced possesed...
Maybe it he's the next Marino, Elway, or Montana? Whatever it is, I'm just optimistic that it's something great.

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
Peter King also said that "Spurrier will win big" a couple years ago in his collumn. I do enjoy his MMQB every week (Except for the nonsense about his daughter) and he is a good NFL reporter since he has the ear of a lot of people in the league, but as for his personal opinion of things it's often off the mark. Hopefully, he is right this time though!

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
King was just on PTI and blasted Washington for their QB strategy, "One regime takes Ramsey to be the future, then a new regime comes in and signs a guy to 43 million contract to replace the guy on the future. and now they give up a 1, 3, & 4 to get another guy who will be the future"
Didn't comment on Campbell as a player, just took a shot at the FO |

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
Well, with all the signs pointing to Campbell being an unintelligent person, that's what scares me. We're going to have to buy him Velcro cleats in order to get him onto the field.

That's not so bad considering these scores: Dan Marino: 16 Brett Favre: 22 Of the hundreds of coporations that use it the average is 21. Not to say 16 is good, but it's not going to speak as to his ability at QB. I put no stock in the Wonderlic test. I don't know much about him, otherwise, mostly that's all I'm working with. |

You're going by what one person supposedly heard from an ex-offensive coordinator that for all we know was probably fired from his job in the first place.

Re: Mr King's Take on Campbell
I'm not sure if Jason Campbell was a good pick for us or not, but I don't think we need to worry about his intelligence. He had a 3.0 grade point average and scored a 28 on the wonderlic in feb. at the combine. Time will tell....
