Larry Allen Fails Conditioning Test - Cowboys in Trouble?
Cowboys Guard Larry Allen was placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list after failing a conditioning test and has not participated in the team's training camp. There is no word on when, or whether, Allen will be able to participate in team activities. For more information, see http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2120522.
Allen's absence is very troubling for the Cowboys. Allen, a perinneal Pro-Bowler, is one of the team's best players. Moreover, the Cowboys already have some major holes on their offensive line. Only Marco Rivera, who is aging and recovering from back surgery, and Flozell Adams are very solid starters. With Allen's absence, the Cowboys have glaring holes at center, left guard, and right tackle. Given Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe's inability to avoid a pass-rush, any troubles on the Cowboys line is likely to spell major trouble for the offensive unit as a whole. More to follow as new developments are made public. |
