The man is absolutely deserving of the ring-of-fame, or whatever the Giants equivalent is. But retiring a number? For a mildly-above average qb (and that's being complimentary) who had many average seasons despite the talent around him?
The Giants are basically saying you can be an average player who does 10-15 years and helps win a couple titles and that's good enough to have your jersey retired.
Name recognition strikes again - first it plagues the Pro Bowl, now this. This is how it starts.

#1 No QB or player ever does it by himself ,it's a team sport but he did get voted MVP ,twice for the biggest game of the season.
#2..Check the stats , he is in the top ten of all QB records , like it or not.
#3 , "10-15 years" ,...in the NFL, as a QB? You act like anyone can do it .Yes he's a Manning but a Manning whom played for 16 years won two Super Bowls and was voted MVP of both games ,your arguments don't hold up.
