I heard that Hayneswroth is going to be the first DL in the NFL to be Red Shirt in practice.

I am really counting on Zorn being a far better 2nd year coach. I think he came in and drove pretty hard, especially with the Hall of Fame game. I hope we see a lightyear improvement as everything is more familiar. (and I thought he had a good first year)

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

Don't all of our preseason opponents run a 3-4 defense? It would have been nice to play some 4-3's since that is more of the defense we will see this year in the NFC

Probably doesn't make much of a difference in terms of the schedule, unless those team really have a lot of battles going on for starting positions. Thank God they are preseason games. If those games would be played like regular season games, we would be toast.

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

Well the national game is the third game, which is the only "meaningful" game...and its against the Patriots, who I think are going to be pretty damn good this year... for whatever reason, we tend to suck in that third preseason game (remember Carolina last year!?) .... but New England should be a good test.

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

Prediction: we won't look that good in preseason.

Reason: we are playing some tough-ass teams.

Prediction 2: All over Redskins nation we'll hear that the sky is falling, the FO sucks, JC is not a franchise QB, Zorn is over his head, etc. etc.

Prediction 3: We'll look good in the regular season for having played these tough teams.

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

It will be important to get the Offense clicking asap! Last preseason we were terrible when our 1st unit was on the field... Last year Colt actually had a good showing I want to see him progress as well.

Maybe we can have Ethan Albright long snap it to a 11 yard deep JC in the shotgun :p

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

Trial by fire... i like it. We play all AFC teams with tough defenses so our o-line and WRs have their jobs cut out for them. A great way to find out who has the goods and who needs to find a new job. Time to see if DT, MK, Fred Thomas, Rinehart, Buzbee, Tyron, Westbrook have made any strides in the 2nd yr under the WCO.

I'm not! I hope Hayneworth belly flops Brady and sends him to the lockeroom for an early shower!

Great, I hate to see what rule they come up with if this were to happen.

I'm predicting that Marques Hagans will win the 2009 Sultan-Mason award (which goes to the Redskins Preseason MVP of course)

Re: Redskins preseason schedule

I sure am glad that I live in Richmond. Channel 8 covers every single Redskins game that isn't covered by FOX or NBC.

Yeah, it's only preseason. I am looking forward to seeing our team play, especially our draft picks and younger players. I want to see what our offensive line can do.

We couldn't have asked for a better pre-season.
