Many of these guys weren't meant to be long term fixes anyway.
You want to keep Portis?

Re: Offseason predictions

For a team that has shown little improvement, it's safe to say changes are definitely on the horizon. Specifics of those changes are difficult to determine at this time because so many variables can take place before the beginning of a new season. A good time to begin the discussion would be the end of February. Progress has to be made on a new CBA in order to have a clearer view of how every team will proceed towards the future.

And Buchanon as well as Holliday are good enough to stay IMO.

What do you all think of Lorenzo Alexander as our OLB opposite Orakpo.
Yup. Although he will not be mistaken for Ngata, Carriker is our one decent defensive line piece.

For depth, I would keep Heyer too. He's shown a lot of improvement and is versatile. For some reason though people just have it out for him no matter what he does. I often wonder if people even watch what he's doing.

Re: Offseason predictions

We need to re-sign the great Rich Bartel. With him at the helm we would be 11-1 at worst.

That's only because when he makes mistakes they become so glaringly obvious that it's hard to ignore. At least 2 of the sacks on McNabb came when Heyer was manning the left side, and those sacks came because he's simply not good enough. He got beat off the snap and whoever had those sacks (Not sure whether it was Tuck, Pierre-Paul, or Umenyiora) just overwhelmed him.

I would love Heyer, but his mistakes always come at crucial moments, and that's why fans have a problem with him. He's still good for depth though, I just don't want to see him consistently on the field, and he should never have to face an upper tier pass rusher without some tight end help imo.
