Re: Draft talk round 1
Well I was shocked that:
- Miami traded all the way up to #3 to get Dion Jordan when they have Wake, Oderrick, and Vernon. - EJ Manuel was the first QB taken - Miami gave up so little to move up, yet New England got so much to move from the very end of round 1 to round 2. - Manti and Geno didn't go in the first round - Minnesota wanted Cordarrelle Patterson over Manti - Elam still went in round 1 (lots of talk that he'd fall to round 2) - Kyle Long going in round 1 - Shariff Floyd a top 3 pick fell all the way to Minnesota. - Eifert went to..The Bengals?? (I guess they aren't high on Gresham or Orson Charles) - The 49ers traded up to get...Eric Reid, whose stock was supposed to of been awful lately (like 3rd round awful) -The Jets picked Sheldon Richardson, a projected 3-4 DE, and already have two other studs there with Muhammed Wilkerson and Quinton Coples...smh - Saints going with Vaccarro when they have Jenkins and Harper; must expect him to play SS - The Colts taking Werner was a bit surprising; guess they think he can play OLB - The cowboys panicing and picking the wisconsin C. God that's another awful pick. Other observations and notes I had: I liked the Raiders, Rams, Ravens, Panthers and Vikings picks. I hated the Dolphins, Jets, Lions, Bills, and Cowboys picks (well, I like Dallas's pick in a good job at sucking pick) Did Bjoern Werner give his girlfriend a hickey or something when he was picked?!? I was right about there only being 1 QB and No RB's in the first round. I was wrong about Elam going AFTER Cyprien. I was also wrong about 25 picks in my mock. The 7 picks I had correct were (KC Fisher, Jax Joeckel, Arizona Cooper, Tennessee Warmack, Carolina Louteleli, Green Bay Datone Jones, Denver Sly Williams) Lots of talent on the board for us to consider for tomorrow: - Arthur Brown LB -Keenan Allen WR - Cyprien S - Swearinger FS - Hankins DT - Jesse Williams NT - Ertz TE - John Jenkins NT - DaMontre Moore OLB - Gavin Escobar TE - Manti Te'o LB - Khaseem Greene LB - Kawann Short DE - Logan Ryan CB - Johnathan Banks CB - Darius Slay CB - Robert Woods WR - Alex Okafor OLB - Hunter WR - Travis Kelce TE - Menelik Watson RT - Jamar Taylor CB - Poyer CB - Patton WR - Blidi Wreh-Wilson CB - Minter LB - Barrett Jones OL - Da'Rick Rogers WR - Armstead OT - Corey Lemonier OLB - Bailey WR - Hunt DE - Johnathan Franklin RB - Shamarko Thomas S - Bennie Logan DT - David Amerson CB - Schwenke C - Terrance Williams WR - Ellington RB - Alford CB - Randle RB - Jordan Mills OT - Nico Johnson LB - Brandon Jenkins OLB - Brandon Williams NT lots and lots of talent. And I didn't even mention Phillip Thomas, Bacarri Rambo or the Honey Badger.

Guy had career 7 sacks and was a top 10 pick? Smh. This draft is all??? Teams are just hoping these guys work out.

Re: Draft talk round 1
Lol I cant believe the Cowboys reached like that. I think they expected guys they wanted (K Long, Pugh, Reid, Sylvester Williams) to still be there. I dont think they anticipated SF to move up to take Reid.

Yeah they had been saying Dallas wanted Reid or vaccaro. Overall I think we'll look back in a couple years and only find a few guys that are really good pros. And I believe most are lineman. I'm still surprised Manuel went so high.

Re: Draft talk round 1
I can't get past the EJ Manuel pick...what a terrible decision. They genuinely scared they couldn't get him in the 2nd?. What a waste of value

ROFL. I loved when the reporter asked them if they got short changed on the trade based on the draft chart. Jerry didn't even answer as Jason and Steven jumped in to save his ass. To top it off, Steven had the audacity to say he got better than what the draft chart projected. ![]() I'd be furious if I were a Cowboys fan. To have a owner and front office to sit there and lie right to the fans face about the trade value when everybody can plainly see they could have gotten more. The New England trade with Minnesota showed that.

Re: Draft talk round 1
I think that you are correct, which would make the Dallas strategy a boneheaded one. Was it really that hard to guess that SF would use its many picks to try to replace Goldston?

Re: Draft talk round 1
What I read on Cowboys boards, Cooper, Womack were the first targets and were gone. Pugh and K Long were the preferences at 31 and they were gone. The Center pick was a panic pick. love it

Re: Draft talk round 1
at around the 16:50 mark JJ, while defending the pick, said that their pick had been able to adjust to schemes even when they changed coaches after the first game. I would love to know what went through Jason Garrett's mind as JJ said that.

Re: Draft talk round 1
Garrett is getting 3 mil per year, he's just happy to be there.

Re: Draft talk round 1
Maybe. But I really don't think it would make any difference.
