If anything, Gibbs was a wonderful reprieve from the general suckitude of the Snyder ownership.

We made the playoffs twice with Gibbs 2.0, and went 8-8 with Cerrato and Zorn inheriting the team in 2008. Gibbs' stint set back nothing, except the aforementioned suckitude.
I agree with Paintrain that Gibbs deserves some blame for trading draft picks away left and right. He had the final say on such matters. It seems that it doesn't matter who the coach is. The culture here is not conducive to building a winner. That starts at the top.

Wasn't the TJ Duckett trade under Gibbs' watch?

Yep, Gibbs had final say on that. That's why fans need to pull their heads our of the sand when it comes to Gibbs. He deserves much blame for not leveraging the draft like consistent winning teams do today.

No question , coach got the players he wanted . Gibbs = HOF Coach , not sure he would have made at as a GM .

So you're saying those moves are hurting us now?? The RG3 trade is hurting us more than those moves are.

You have got to be kidding me. Gibbs left after 2007.....6 years ago.

Gibbs was forever ago in football years. This is Shanny's mess and no one else's.

Agreed.

While what Gibbs 2.0 did was wrong, none of that has any bearing on what is going on here. If JG did a better job of drafting in those years, we would possibly have some stud vets still here now from those drafts, but we don't.

Shanahan asked for 5 years and made tons of other silly demands that were met. It's been 4 years, this team is spinning tires going uphill and we can all see it. I don't like Dan Snyder at all but I fully understand his frustration.

Re: Do You Unequivocally Believe RG3 Is Our Franchise QB?

If I am not mistaken didn't Snyder side with his new revenue wonder boy(RG III) over the HC? I think the Shanahan's are definitely overrated as coaches now, but when the owner has the coach out on a limb in trying to handle a big ego, that does tend to undermine the whole enchilada. RG III will be a bust, not because he isn't talented per say, but because by the time the franchise builds a real team around him, he will have bolted already. Also, the new HC might "Ramsey" RG III.
