Big week for Cousins...faces a stiffer test vs Chiefs secondary.

Overall, the Chiefs defense statistically is one of the worst we've faced except one crucial statistic: defensive scoring. When we get into the red zone it HAS to be TDs.

Eh, he didn't single handedly will us into the playoffs last year. Not worth it.

He's looking like a genius right now. Got paid 45 mil for back to back years, and then next year someone's gonna give him a massively overpaid deal. That's a very smart move.

I have a major concern that paying KC will prevent us from paying Brown/Pryor/Breeland (if he earns it, which he hasn't) and others. I think Moreau can be next man up at DB, but argh, I worry this team will look massively different next year.

A deal for Cousins isn’t going to kill our cap.

Agree. We won't be able to keep everyone, especially if all of our guys are blossoming like we hope. Can't pay Fuller + Nicholson + Breeland + Preston Smith + Brown + Scherff + ... But you have to keep drafting well. If you lose Breeland, you rely on being smart enough to draft Moreau when you did. Have to keep that up. But it's not going to ruin us cap wise. We're already carrying a big number for Cousins.

14.5% of the cap is realistic for me, that's the average other teams pay their good qb's. Whatever that number is, I'm ok with it.

Good for KC, although Thompson could have easily got it as well... As for paying KC, it will figure itself out. If he wants to stick it to the team ( which I doubt) then he'll probably force his way out. If not, and the Redskins come with a fair deal then he'll stay. It's that simple. I personally think he'll be here for a long time. It will eventually get done. |

IF Cousins gets us into playoffs and plays like a top QB even if we lose and he did all he could do He will be a REDSKIN..However if he continues his throwing the late pick in a close situation and cost us then he may just have to go somewhere else. He needs that moment ( not to take anything away from the raiders win but that was a total team win and yes Cousins played great the team was so on fire they were not going to be denied..I want to see Cousins in a situation where the team is struggling in a big game and He takes over and leads them to the big win ) thats when the long term deal gets done.
