Making the playoffs at 7-9 definitely gave fans a false sense of hope that we were close. A defense that feasted on mostly backup QB's and bad teams during the stretch run last year had the same effect.

It also didn't help that TH had a magical game and everyone went nuts over him... Thinking he was the next Romo or something.

Yeah and TH's performance seemed to make people forget the Bucs absolutely carved up our defense for 500+ yards. And CY was totally invisible.

yep, we were lucky Dak was out all season or else we wouldn't have even come close to the division
