Feels good to be winning games with Heinicke, but we aren't under any illusions about what he is. He isn't a qb that can sit in the pocket and progress through multiple reads while evading the rush. He seems like the type of qb that looks at his primary and then checks it down, or scrambles around to buy some time and look for an open guy. If Ron and Scott are comfortable with it so am I, but there will be a game where we have to rely on him throwing the ball to win.

If Dotson isn't getting targets because he's rarely the primary receiver, we need Scott to dial up some plays to get him some looks. Use McLaurin to draw coverage to one side and then get Dotson open on the other. Next Gen Stats highlighted this on Twitter - watch how Justin Jefferson pulls coverage to his side to get Theilen open on the game winning TD last week. Not sure if it's a scheme thing or if its' a Heinicke limitation, but we are wasting Curtis Samuel and Dotson if we can't get them the ball in space.
