crosby is going in the 2nd and wilson probably goes in the 3rd, they're both the types that raise as the draft gets closer. why get lamar when we might have a shot at a guy like gaines? woodley's probably a better fit for a 3-4, which we haven't really used. otherwise you've got a small (weight and height) DE without great speed, or a big LB without good speed.

daniels is 33 and wynn is 32, so i don't know where you did your research on that. you also don't give contract's to guys still on rookie deals generally. cooley's not going to be worth much more next year than he is this year, so that's just throwing away cap space for no reason. no to mention it'd be impossible to take archuleta's hit then go around and overpay ANOTHER safety. did you even run the numbers before putting that post up? how do you hand out that many big contracts, resign our players, and take arch's cap hit and stay under? you do NOT pay you're #2 TE 3mill per unless he's superman.

you can't trade down like that (when's the last time a single team has traded down 4 times in one round), not to mention denver has the option to force a trade down if we're too close. oh yeah, woodley is going closer to the 15th overall pick than the 30th, so you'd need to pick another player there too.

redskins traded down like 3 times in 2002 when we got ramsey at 32 ,maybe we trade down 3 times ok, but we get young skilled players FOR CHEAP . gaines adams to me is a little over rated, he is not very good in the run he weights less that woodley , wood is 6-1 274 , adams is 6-5 260, adams has a body like carter. and woodley has a body like merriman .

wynn is done, daniels has very litle left in the tank.
the 49ers gave vernon davis 25 million? and his a damn rookie

davis was a top 5 pick and he's also their #1 TE, not their #2, so i fail to see how that has to do with anything i mentioned. we can't trade down 3 times cause the broncos get a free exchange of picks, and again, if lamar is a top 15-20 pick, how do we get him at 30? i didn't say anything about wynn or daniels besides that you got their ages wrong, whether they're done or not has nothing to do with what i mentioned either. (btw, in hindsight trading down and bypassing charles grant, javon walker, and ed reed for ramsey looks like a REALLY smart decision now, doesn't it?)

it is funny that you talk about getting players cheap when your plan involves giving out another massive round of contracts to everyone under the sun though.

who we pick (for me) would depend on who's available, but the best DE available has to be considered. getting 3 lesser players may not be a good trade off if we end up with a hole at the starting spot when the dust clears.

the FAs available and worth considering are basically clements, some LBs (which wouldn't be a bad pickup), josh brown (K), and a cheap safety (which are always around). OL depth would be nice too, but honestly a late 2nd/early 3rd is the best place to pick a guy up without spending a ton for a bench player.
