Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
Gotta be Saunders. He called a great game, and gave JC the opportunities to build up his confidence. JC did a very good job, but if Norv is calling that game, JC gets hammered.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
Had to pick 'Other' on this one. While I loved watching JC keep his composure, I already expected that type of performance out of him. I really felt that Laron Landry, as a rookie, played lights out. He looked like a veteran safety out there making a game-ending hit on Curtis.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
I gotta say we honestly won this game because of JC's play. I think this was a game where his mistakes held us back from blowing them out but his contributions basically won the game for us. Several deeps balls thrown well and a great TD plus a few keep it alive plays plus the big scampers were what won the game. Oh and our D too.

JC, no doubt. This was a huge win for this team, and although Im really really worried about the O line, Im gonna just soak this up for at least 2 days. It is so nice to have a QB capable of anything.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
I went with Moss on this one because he ABUSED the philly secondary and cured his case of the drops (mostly) from last week. He also had a few crucial catches on third down. With Randle El on the sidelines, he was our only deep threat and he kept the Eagles honest.
Good arguments for Campbell and the overall D though. And Portis with that hit. Just a great overall game for our team to build on.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
I'm developing a man crush on Campbell due to his ability and pocket presense, but if I can only give one game ball, I have to give it to Coach Gibbs. As much as I chastise him for sitting on leads and taking field goals over touchdowns; I loved the call at the end of the half when the Eagles were trying to ice Suisham. The fact that Gibbs made them pay for giving them a free timeout was effing beautiful.

JC without question. Quite the peak at things to come.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
I think last night was total team effort. There really is too many players that had a good game, but i'll mention as many as i can think of:
Rocky: what, 9 tackles JC: played a good game Sean T: very nice game Laron: good game + the game winning play+ 1/2 sack Carlos Rogers: nobody mentioned him, but he made a number of nice tackles and played great coverage all night The whole o-line: protected very well Rock Cartwright: he's a pretty kick returner Special Teams has been real good Gibbs and Saunders: or whoever was calling the plays, I loved the play calling for the most part. I loved the call to Moss in the fourth qtr even though JC missed it. Great call on the screen to Betts too. I was wondering when we would call a screen... |

Did anybody see Mike Seller steam roll over Dawkins in the first half? That guy sets the tone for the entire team he is tough as nails. We are just more physical and that takes its toll. |

i also have to give it to Jason. He played well under pressure, made correct reads mostly, threw the ball where it needed to be except once and led our team to victory.

Re: Redskins-Eagles Game Balls
funny what a little mobility and a good arm and great decisions can do! Unlike Brunell, JC has a little of all of these characteristics. He did not play great but good enough to win. I voted for JC.

As for Carlos Rogers I am a little cold on him but he has that bend don't break type of play...and tonight he did not break! |

Gregg Williams brought Rogers in here to be fast and physical, and to make sure tackles. Unfortunately the trade off is poor hands and adequate coverage skills. He's going to disappoint you sometimes but be assured he's upholding his share of the defense.
