Very true. By the way, I do think the coaching was very questionable at best.

See here's where I agree with you some and I agee with Rob some. It seems our staff, be it Gibbs or Saunders or whomever, can't get a feel for the game. What I'm saying is, we go in at half time and we're humming along pretty good and we have a little swagger, and we don't feed that in the second half.

It's something about the playcalling that "slows us down"...it's not that it's bad, but it doesn't feed the team's energy and attitude. I think that's the thing they have to grasp with this team. Sometimes I feel like Gibbs is forcing a round peg into a square hole with this squad. This is obviously theory on my part and no real facts to support this, but you can't tell me there's no quicker way to make a team play flat than to switch gears on them.

Another thing, Joe Gibbs football....I know what that means by definition, but we don't have Riggo and Jacoby and those guys anymore.

This is basically how I felt. This is a team we should have dumped 40 points on and in the second half both by execution and coaching we simply let them off the hook. Something tells me that the players would agree that we didn't go for the kill at any point. We seemed content simply let our defense hold on to the game. No seam routes or deep crosses. Nothing. Hand offs coupled with a few dump offs and screens plus some dubious execution killed us. I wont argue execution was good but I'd rather lose by poorly executing solid plays than by screwing up conservative play calling. See in the end if we are more aggressive maybe we can overcome some of the execution issues. Instead we play this keep it close stuff that leaves us no room for error at all.

Yeah, my bad about that. My apologies FRLPG. Just want to throw that out there...

That's a little out of character for me to say something like that.

Re: f...gibbs

its very simple. lack of execution, and the players lost the game. i really had no problem with the play calling. if Betts doesnt stumble, the game goes to over time. its anyones guess what happens. but our defense was on the field way too long in the second half. we should have had Portis in, and tried to run the ball straight down their throats

and sometimes people forget we have practically a rookie starting at qback, and 2 offensive lineman hurt. coach Gibbs does need to do a better job making his halftime adjustments. for someone that used to be a master at this, he seems to struggle with it now

Hey it's all cool. I am livid about this and you have some good counter points. We all stoked up on this stuff. It's all good.

I'll grant I am super wigged out on this but I really feel we caged the dogs yesterday when the exact opposite was needed. I know there are stats that argue against that but I am going on what I saw and how it felt at the time. It felt like a roll over to me. Maybe in the end it wasn't, I am slowly coming around, but I also know that on this board we do a lot of rationalizing. Hell i am usually solidly in the ratiionalizing camp, leading they way really. But here I am not. I think our coaches didn't let our players play. It makes me mad.

We were all shocked last week when Campbell went deep for Moss (moss missed it) and I think Gibbs felt that was a mistake and wouldn't allow it again or something. How horrendous!

I am not sure that it is half time adjustments as much as it is an unnatural inability to deviate at all from a game plan. He seems so concerned, so uptight about risk that we simply do any and everything to mitigate it and it seems we often mitigate ourselves into loses. I am terrified we are going to do this all year. At some point, for the sake of learning and growth, we need to let the offense go and either sink or swim. It will never be a potent offense until it gets is chance. I am convinced it can be. We have play makers. Imagine what Indy would be like if they simply never let Manning throw the ball much in his first couple of years. I am not saying Campbelll can be Manning but that offense has an identity that helps it win games. They expect and are expected to score points. You never see them just sit on a lead. A lot of that comes from how they view themselves and confidence. We can't get confidence playing this way. If it frustrates us...imagine how frustrated the players are.

This actually a good time for a bye week if you ask me.

It's only one game. We can...should rebound against the Lions, and the coaches and players can look long and hard at how we lost this game.

Screw this Joe Gibbs football! We need to score more touchdowns. Gibbs acts like if we can't run, we can't win. I'm so damn tired of it. If we were more aggessive we would score more points and evey damn game would not come down to the end.

Anyone watch the Cowgirls abuse the Bears last night? They just kept going to TO over and over and over again. They even had him catching passes out of the backfield. Jason Garrett was creative in finding ways to get him the ball. We should be doing to same thing with Santana. Why aren't we????? Between Gibbs and Sanders they make probably over 8 million and that's the best game plan they can come up with?

Whatever...I hate when we're conservative, but it's not like we were on the field long enough in the second half to be conservative or not. We just didn't get a first down. Plain and simple. Had we actually had the opportunity, and played it too safe Id agree, but he players never even gave the coaches a chances to be conservative.

1. The Cowboys didn't completely abandon the run, and just start launching the ball as some seem to think

2. Isn't it funny how we're praising the Cowboys for getting TO the ball "even out of the backfield" but when we do the same thing with Moss all we hear is "When is Old Man Gibbs going to get rid of this dink and dunk offense and go deep"

I'm not praising the Cowboys. I just liked what Jason Garrett did against a very very good defense. I didn't say they ababdoned the run. I said they got the ball to their best player and they make an effort to do so.

Meanwhile our best player got the ball 3 times.
