Re: Is The NFC East Back?

You wanna know why the defense was SO dominating against the Lions? That huge number your offense put on the board. The way the offense played against Detroit enabled the defense to play RELAXED in the second half and just MAKE PLAYS. I'll go even further and say that the defense was just plain HAVING FUN playing football! But when the score is so close in the second half, defenses take fewer risks and lack agressiveness. A short lead puts added pressure on the defense to keep the team in the game, they take fewer aggresive risks on plays. It is like they are playing "not to lose" instead of "playing to win". Not blaming the defense here, not at all. But the offense needs to be more consistent to take some of that pressure off of the defense. |

Good teams make the adjustments and have someone stay in and help out on Kampman. I didn't see anyone helping Wade or Heyer. Why didn't we make an adjustment in that situation? If you have a rookie FA LT coming in to play RT on a top pass rusher who was killing Wade, common sense tells me Heyer might need a little help. Don't ya think? Send 4 guys out in the pattern and have a back stay in and help out. These are things our high priced coaching staff should have easily figured out. Also all the confusion on the sidelines is just silly. How much more of this do we have to look at? We are always burning time outs in the 2nd half of games when we shouldn't be. Gibbs use to be the master at all this stuff and now he just doesn't do a damn thing. IMO Sanders needs to be on the sidelines calling the plays. I think that would help out a little bit. |

We were pretty successful in protecting the QB when we helped on Kampman, but then no one was getting open (either that or Campbell missed them). It's sort of a double edged sword. The best way to approach it is to mix it up like we did and help Heyer sometimes, but not to often. As long as you keep them off balance, you give yourself a chance to be successful even when you have a matchup deficiency.

Re: Is The NFC East Back?
Speaking of the NFC East, I just realized (looking on the team site) we've fallen to third place. NY looks friggin awesome right now between their wicked pass rush on D and a pretty high-powered offense. I think we're facing another '06 type season where we get swept by the bastards up north (except this year we're more than likely to be swept by Dallas too). Uggh.

Re: Is The NFC East Back?
Just thought I would refresh this thread. The NFC EAST is 14 - 5 and only 1 loss outside the division. How tough is that??

Re: Is The NFC East Back?
I didn't know it ever left.
The SB champs will have to go through the NFC East IMO. Maybe, just maybe....well you know. DC to Tampa

Re: Is The NFC East Back?
i think the 4 best teams in the nfc are in the nfc east, and everybody else in the conference is way the hell behind them.i think the afc is really week.if the titans are the best team they have, the nfc does'nt have much to worry about.

I actually think the Panthers are a quietly solid team.

Re: Is The NFC East Back?
How can the NFC be back when they never went anywhere? We consistently have three or four playoff caliber squads every year. No other division can say that. Not the AFC east, AFC North, NFC south, or AFC West. We already know how bad the NFC west is (personally, I don't even think they deserve an autonmatic playoff spot out there but that's another post).
The Giants are Super Bowl Champions, The Cowboys are the most talented team in the NFC, The Eagles defense is top five, and the Redskins are playing POSSESSED FOOTBALL... I LOVE IT!!! No other division has four teams top to bottom that can compete in any game anywhere on sunday |
