Nothing like game experience to fast foward the learning process.

Could be a blessing in disguise. We need to see what we have in these guys and there's no better way to find out than playing them.

Rabach. Screw the playoffs, we are not going to make it and if we do, we'll get our asses kicked. I hate to say it, but we are playing for next year.

So what happened to Geisinger? I'd guess it was a pulled groin that happened when he was chasing the defenders he let go right past him.

Another silver lining (grasping at straws here, fellas!): This will disavow anyone in the FO that we are close to being a serious contender. Build with young talent from the lines out. Be prepared for it to take some time. Stick with Zorn and see what he can do. Give JC another season but be ready with a backup plan. Learn who is worth keeping in these last few games. And stay "medium": 8-8/9-7 is a successful year, IMO.

Re: Samuels Done for the Year

I'm hoping that Reinhart makes it into some games for more than a couple of plays between now and the end of the season for a fairly simple reason.

The Skins took 4 guys on the first day of the 2008 draft:

Kelly and Thomas at WR

Davis at TE

Reinhart at OT/OG.

So far, Kelly, Thomas and Davis have contributed next to nothing to the team in 2008. They have loads of "potential" - - which is the polite way of saying they haven't done jack-sh*t yet. So, it will be interesting to see if Reinhart can play NFL football.

It is NOT a good team-building stategy to use all of your first-day draft picks on "projects". Some of those players need to be able to contribute something to the team in their rookie year beyond punt coverage and being the desingated pass-dropper when the ball hits you in the hands.

And so far, Reinhart is the only hope for making a positive contribution...

I'm afraid we're going to find out just how big the dropoff will be. Maybe then people will appreciate just how good he is.

You play to win the games.

Even if it is 10-6, 9-7, 8-8 or 7-9 and at home regardless.

Well the talent on D line that Samauls faced v/s what we have the next couple of weeks are pretty far apart. Even if they don't allow a sack it would be tough to judge if it was or was not CS playing.

Is he on their practice squad or on the team? We have 2 spots to fill on our PS.

That is true.
I think it's funny how most everyone on here knows how bad our O-Line is. But when it comes to giving your opinion on Samuels all of a sudden he's the one of the best in the NFL!?? Why is it just because he happens to be our best offensive lineman. That automatically makes him one of the best??
Sure...He's not fully to blame for our offensive line meltdown...we could go into pages of threads to cover that topic. But he sure doesn't appear to be a leader for the line either. If you look at where most of the pressure has come from you will see it's generally from his side. Due to he's either getting over loaded or he just simply let the guy get around him. At times you can see he appears to not be playing to the level he should/could be. Not to mention he's highly penalty prone.

Kendal and Samuels are good. Samuels has been playing on a bad knee requiring surgury, so he has not been himself. Still better than Heyer who proved that he sucks, in the game he started at left tackle.
