Snyder has made waaaay to many big name FA acquisitions in the past to be dumb enough to get caught tampering.
Yes we get it. and you are correct that they will have to have some form of proof. So they file a complaint with the Commish. He will have to look into it. How do you suppose he does that? He will contact the agent and ask what was the topic a the dinner. Then he will contact Snyder and ask what was the topic at dinner? If the stories are pretty close and don't involve Haynesworth, guess what......nothings going to happen. Unless the Titans had a tape recorder under the table, or had a boom mike on the table from outside the resturuant, or the agent or Snyder said yes we talked about Haynesworth, or the team had someone sitting relatively close to the table to hear/tape the whole conversation then they got Zilch. Nadda. One big waste of time. All it will accomplish is creating a rift between two owners which may be no big deal unless one has some rule he wants passed and needs the others vote.

The team is just pissed cause they lost their anchor to their defense. Now they have to go out and find another probably through the draft. They built the defense around him and now they have lost their center piece. cry, cry, sniff, sniff, pout, pout..."were going to complain cause someone offered more money then us. Even though we are not in CAP hell."

I mean why complain? They gave a fair market value to him. He wanted out. If he didn't want out he wouldn't have tested the market. He would have said ok I'll sign cause I love this city. Instead he decided to test the market. The Skins offered more. Why argue and fight over someone who does not want to be with you any more? or is it their being greedy and wanting another 1st round draft pick so to complain hopefully the Commish will say "Even though there's no proof I totally believe the Skins Tampered so we will award the Titans the Skins 1st rounder." I don't see that happening.

Go file your complaint Titans. Make yourself look like asses. Make history.

You are correct that the dinner conversation alone will result in nothing. The Combine conversations likely are moot as well.

However, if VC or DS called Haynesworth before the opening bell of free agency, phone records will show this and things could get ugly.

But as far as I have heard no one is even alleging this. (Remember that the opening bell is 12:01 ET, or 11:01pm in Tennessee.) Do you have a story or link that says they did?

Re: PFT rumor: TITANS TO PURSUE TAMPERING CHARGES AGAINST REDSKINS?

Seems to me you can talk, tamper, fidget, swindle, persuade, wine and dine all you want and it won't matter. The only words that matter (no matter WHEN they are said) are the number of years, total salary, signing bonus, etc. I don't care how much you talk prior to being able to sign someone...the agents will find the deal that best fits the player. Whether it's a guy looking to get paid or a guy looking for his best chance at a Championship. Albert Haynesworth had a list of terms and contract criteria that his agent had to work with when finding a new deal. The bottom line is whoever gave them that deal was getting his services. The rest of this is sour grapes on the part of the Titans. They had plenty of opportunity PRIOR to the opening of free agency to negotiate a deal where they could have kept him off the market. Dan Snyder made it work (with salary cap magic) and the Titans could have as well.

Thank you and have a nice day!

HAIL!!

I totally agree. Also how do we not know that the agent requested dinner with DS? How do we not know the agent brought up the terms and conditions? It's only tampering if the Skins or representative for the team ie; DS contacted the agent and spoke about details in regards to a contract. If the Skins are going to get it then I think Drew Rosenhause(sp) should be fined or told not to deal contracts also cause he shopped 3 players prior to Free Agency.

Good point; Rosenhaus did send out a league-wide email saying that Plax, Chad Ocho Cinco and Anquan Boldin, who are all under contract with teams, were available for trades.

No I don't. I'm just saying that other evidence (including Rock's mouth) is speculative, but if premature phone records do surface, that would be damning.

I heard Rock that morning on the radio and did a double take. Listening to it again, the pronouns get all jumbled, and I am sure it can't be held as "proof".
If a video of DS handing AH 1,000,000 in cash in a dark alley, while Vinny stands look out, and gauging street walkers on their WR or ninja skills, that would be pretty damning too!
