Lining Lavar up at DE in certain passing situations is not the same thing as turning him into an everydown DE. Spotting Lavar at DE in some 3rd down situations as Marvin Lewis did is a good idea, converting him completely to DE would not be a good idea IMO.

Even though when I really think about it. A lot of people played in different positions all year 'round. Williams knows how and where to use guys.

LaVar wouldn't have a chance against a tackle in a run play if he was a full time DE.

Lavar will not have a specific position, just as the plan was this year before the injury. He will be officially listed as weak-side LB, but during the games he will line up practically all over the field depending on the situation to keep the offense off guard. I don't see an official position change, but I bet he'll definitely line up at DE a good bit.

Clemons may be worth a look at a DE in spot duty. He's quick and has a motor. Could be interesting against heavy pass teams.

I completely agree. I mean how many sacks did Clemons have in what was basically a relief appearance at DE?

I think he had 3-4 and if you count the ones he WOULD have had against Daunte, he might have had 5-6 in just a few games. I'm very interested in seeing his progress next year.
