Re: Peter King on SNF
The Skins have a championship in one area, cynical fans.
If Zorn can't see that this team is sinking fast he shouldn't be the HC anyways. If they can work together to find a solution that gets this team headed in the right direction then everybody will be happy. It's ridiculous to say he should refuse. Hell my boss and I were talking today, and he had a story of a guy who lost his job cuz the boss said come in at 8 and this guy refused. Zorn does need to grow a pair, but he needs to man up and realize that he needs help and not let his ego interfere with finding a winning recipe on this team. |

Re: Peter King on SNF
Can't get any worse. This offense is a putrid, sputtering joke. From a Redskins standpoint, this is probably a good thing. From a Zorn standpoint... Well, I think he knows he's outta here anyway. He might as well take a little stress out of his work week.

Re: Peter King on SNF
Any coach that comes in here is going to have to deal with a front office that is a nightmare. I would not wish this coaching job on my worst enemy. Things will never improve and we will never return to greatness until something is done in the front office.

Re: Peter King on SNF
I am going to take a different view of this and say that Zorn is absolutely NOT the problem. He can only work with the tools that are given to him and those are some of the dullest, most broken and inadequate tools anywhere. Who bought those tools? Vinny Cerrato and Daniel Snyder. I have seen more passes dropped. More passes thrown away from the receiver. More linemen give up their blocks. More runners fail to attack the gap. More cornerbacks drop interceptions. More defensive players flat out MISS tackles....than I have ever seen on any team not at the Pop Warner level. That is NOT on Zorn. That is on one of the worst collections of players I've seen. These guys are paper tigers. They hype themselves up every year as though we should just go ahead and hand them the Lombardi Trophy. And every year we get the same thing...failure. What is the only constant over the past 10 years of losing? Snyder and Cerrato. So, Zorn may take the fall, but I guarantee you that until we get a REAL GM with REAL AUTHORITY, the results will continue to be dismal and the next coach will take the fall, and the next and the next. I love the Skins, but I hate this front office as much as I hate the Cowgirls.

I agree with Dungy. Zorn should be drawing the line on this one, even though he's not. He's delaying the inevitable. He's going down; he might as well go down swinging.

Re: Peter King on SNF
Wasn't this guy initially hired to be the play caller? This whole era has been a bit of a head scratcher.

Re: Peter King on SNF
Why did the FO think Zorn could 'do it all' in the first place?

Re: Peter King on SNF
1. Cheaper
2. Easier to fire 1 man when Cowher,Holmgren,Shanahan and Gruden want to coach again. We all knew Zorn was a stop gap HC from the beginning that was hired and promoted after the other candidates turned us down.

Re: Peter King on SNF
well first off he was hired as OC meaning he wouldn't have to do it all, but we knew we wouldn't be able to pull him over just as a glorified QB coach, so he needed a title
eventually we were like heh, nobody is going to be our HC... at that point Zorn could've decided to allow Sherman Smith to call the plays as he found his role, but he didn't |
