my point was pretty clear. runningbacks decline alot quicker than other positions. portis has over 2100 carries. just imagine what turner is going to look like in 2014 when he might be close to 2000 carries.

the 2006 portis was a top 5 top 10 runningback. the 2009 and 2010 portis is not.

the 2009 turner is a top 5 top 10 runningback. the 2013 and 2014 turner will not.

it seems your stuck on thinking the portis now is the same one who put up 1500 yd seasons. hes not.

I do wonder if you have watched Portis this year and last. CP can pile up numbers, but he can't hit a home run ball. I don't have stats/numbers/links, but I feel confident in saying CP has often been caught from behind, or steps out rather than bull through at the end of a long run. And this year he really had a lot of difficulty running up the back of his blocker when a hole was open that he missed.

I like Zorn's approach, telling CP he is the starter, if and when he practices a full week. Hopefully Betts sees it as his chance to get more playing time, and if and when CP is practicing full tilt, then he is the better back.

Dude, come on....seriously? Sellers busted his ass getting down the field and actually made 2 blocks before that....In MY OPINION a top 5 running back cuts behind Sellers block and scores easily. And dude seriously, I don't "hate" anyone...geese.

On that run ninety percent of the running backs in this league cut it back the other way and score a touchdown. Portis wasn't scrutinzed as much because, well, it was a 78 yard run.

But it's clear you either have a bone to pick about Portis or you just flat out don't what you're talking about. It's one or the other. Don't give me this crap about coming to another fan site defending Clinton Portis' honor. Your argument is based 100% on what Portis has done in the past, not what he's done this year.

YouTube - Clinton Portis 78 Yard Rush against Kansas City Chiefs HD
i gotta go to work so i'll address everyone else later but its clear the the fullback couldnt maintain the block downfield

he lost his footing and the defender made a great play in the open field with more defenders in persuit

portis could have cut back, if he wanted to trip over his blocker or get caught from behind waiting for his blocker to get further downfield.....but he didnt.....he didnt have the opportunity to cut back because he had caught up with his blocker so fast and there were defenders behind him

Canton is going to work, so it can't possibly be Portis.

Bah-zing!

Thats your opinion...thats fine. A lot of others would disagree.

Hey man, it was a 78 yard run, its a good run no matter what, Im just saying a top 5 RB scores on that 99% of the time.

Sellers made the block that sprung CP at the point of attack and hustled his ass down field, can't knock 45.

do me a favor and dont "address" me later. your absolutism and insistence that your view is right makes for a boring self-centered conversation.

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!

Guys, we're wasting our time. It's great entertainment though. No way in HELL will a fan of another team visit another fan site, invited or not, and is SO adament about a running back who's clearly on the slide.

Think about it, how many of us go to the Giants site and stick up for Brandon Jacobs or Miami's site and stick up for Ricky Williams? I don't know if I'm the only one, but I'm getting a kick out of CL.

Hey, CL what time are you off work man? LOL

The only reason he is so adamant is because he can't admit when he is wrong. No point in talking to the dude because he's really just talking to himself. He's the king of conversational masturbation.

Exactly...he is just invested in his arguement. But I do question why he is such a strong CP supporter even though he is a Saints fan.
