Re: Coaching Staff update

I've been away so I'm not sure if this was mentioned but Stan Hixon is the new WR coach for the Bills

Good for Hixon, not that Buffalo is a hot bed of talent but they do have two high quality WR's.

Interesting that it seems like our coaches are getting calls and jobs, mostly the same or demotions, but still they are getting jobs around the league.

Lee Evans and who? I believe Owens signed one year contract with Bills, not two?

Yeah you are right, I just can't see him signing anywhere else at this point.

I don't see it neither; there's still no ongoing contact talk between Owens's agent and Bills that we know of.. Owens pretty much was nonfactor in his 1 yr stint with Bills.. I'm pretty sure Owens wants big bucks in his new contract and Bills might not feel he's worthy of it?

Re: Coaching Staff update

I figure I post this for those who wanted Ray Brown to coach our OL, he will be assisting Mike Solari in SF:

former 49er Ray Brown is expected to be named assistant offensive line coach under Mike Solari. Brown played in San Francisco from 1996 to 2001.

I felt the Buffalo move was to let T.O. go to a team and play and show his worth and be the model player. He did that. He played, he wasn't used for the first half of the year, he didn't complain, and he got more playing time after the HC was fired.

My best guess is that he's going to feel out the market. Plus there wouldn't much talk between Buffalo and him and his agent.... they were looking for a HC which is more important and the coaching staff. Then I guess they would let the new HC decide if they want to keep him or not.

Then there is the fact that there is probably only a few teams that will want him and even fewer that will pay him decently. Now the big question is will the Skins be a player considering Shanahan was interested in T.O. prior to his being fired by the Bronco's? There's no throwing away draft picks, no trading players or anything. If the team plays their cards right they can use the other WR's (Kevin Walter, and Antonio Bryant) against each other in order to get a decent deal for one of the elite WR's out there.

No question, Owens will want to test the market.. Like CRedskins said, I don't see any team that would be interested in signing Owens, unless one of their #1 WR got injured and can't play for significant time.. However, I just saw a rumor link on ESPN.com that says that OCNN claims that Bengals re going after Owens? I can't really imagine that happening though..

As for Redskins (or Shanahan?) going after Owens; I really hope that won't be the scenario, only because we have three young WRs that have some potentials.. Signing Owens would only stunt our youngsters' growth.. Beside we would be adding another diva show into the team, right when Portis, alone is more than enough.. Some people are saying that we should sign Kevin Walter or Antonio Bryant, I really believe that we should give our young receivers a chance before we decide to go after FA receivers.. And not to mention we have Cooley and Davis, that we are supposedly planning to utilize together.. By adding more weapons would only complicate things for Shanahan(s)..

But once again, Shanahan is an offense genius; maybe he won't be overwhelmed and have any problem utilize all players..
