Because JC is not a franchise-type QB. You rarely, if ever, get a chance to draft a franchise QB. If one falls to us (Clausen, yes / Bradford, no) then he must be taken. Otherwise Okung or whoever Shanahan/Allen feels is the best fit at LT, or trade down if we get good value for the pick.
