Re: NFL 95 Mock Munch: Bradford takes over Suh, Okung leads to Redskins
Quote:
Statistically, there's not a whole lot that separates the two as prospects, Clausen might be a little "sounder", if that makes any sense, but in the context of the 4th overall pick, it's either got to be Bradford or not Bradford. Essentially, the argument that Bradford is a top five pick is that: if he hadn't got injured, he would have had an even better statistical year than Clausen did this year, and cemented himself as the unquestioned No. 1 overall guy. The entire premise of "assuming greatness" is enough to make me queasy as an analyst, but it'd be entirely crazy to have expected some decline in Bradford's numbers this season, and still project him as a top five type. Teams that pick in the top ten seemed to be more inclined towards delusional logic than teams that pick lower in the first round, so it's a certainty that someone is going to take a shot at Bradford before anyone would consider taking Clausen. I think they'll be surprised to find out he isn't quite as accurate as his college film would suggest, but such is life as a losing organization.
