Lol.. Not saying you were one of them but in years previous it's been 'Why are we spending all of this money on other people's throwaways! We should be more conservative and make smarter focused decisions!' Now it's 'What the hell are we doing? Why aren't we signing anyone!?!' Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Not with the OL that the Skins have currently. The skins need 2 more RB, I would settle for Gerhardt in the draft.

Im joking... but it is funny the one year we decide to be conservative in free agency is in an uncapped year! I thought I'd never see the day that the steelers picked up more free agent than we have.

So far, yes. But free agency is only 4 days old. Check again in August and I'll bet you see a different story emerge.

Re: Portis/ Parker Combination?

Parker sucked last year, with a much superior line than ours I might add. Get a young FA or draft a kid. Parker seemed to be a 2 yards in a cloud of dust most of the time when he came back. He did have some nice runs here and there, but he got stuffed more often than not. Need a young back to eventually replace Portis.

Re: Portis/ Parker Combination?

i think parker could be a good addition to our team in a zone blocking scheme. he still has the speed to breakaway after a cut, while portis can be used less to preserve his legs and prevent injuries. a combo like that could see parker rush for over 1000 yards and portis 10-15 touchdowns.

Re: Portis/ Parker Combination?

Parker is old for a RB and is very injury prone at this point in his career. Portis is in the same category. We we started the 2009 as the oldest avg age team in the NFL. We need to stay away from guys like this. He would have to be really cheap to make workth while. I do not see coming cheap. I say no to Parker.
Is Portis going to be trade bait during the draft???
I hope so, it is time to get rid of Portis' contract. I like the guy when he is healthy but I do not see him staying healthy.

Trade down with Seattle. Let them take Clausen at 4. We'll take Brown and Spiller (Spikes in the 2nd, Calloway on another trade in the 3rd, Snead in the 5th) and call it a day.

Re: Portis/ Parker Combination?

Shannahan was able to plug in Joe Schmo, the cable guy into his running game because the Broncos had a great offensive line. It won't matter who they sign to replace/compliment Portis if we don't find two starting tackles, preferably in the upcoming draft.

I don't know about Parker carrying the load and Portis making roughly a million per touchdown.

I think Shanny is going to run the wheels off Portis.

I would be very, VERY happy with that scenario if it came to pass.
