STFU About the underthrow to Armstrong...

FFS learn some ****ing football fella's.. Mcnabb cannot make a 60 yard throw off his back foot with a Defensive Tackle smashing him in the face.

I don't know many QB's that can....

I think everyone here is hoping Rabach is as good as gone come the off season. If we had any O-line depth, I'd love for him to be cut mid-season.

We haven't been feared at home since playing at RFK. Fed Ex Field has never been a significant home field advantage.

Re: Vikings vs. Redskins Gameday Thread

We were sold a bill of goods and with the euphoria of a new GM we went along with it. A QB is only as good as the players around him, and that isn't saying much. Dropped passes like this is inexcusable in the NFL. Again the top receivers were Cooley and Moss. AA did have the most yards off of two grabs, but all he does is catch bombs, not good for anything else. This franchise is doomed to mediocrity for a long time. Some of these guys like Cooley are going to figure to pack it up and leave to try and get a ring before they do become the very geezers we tend to acquire via FA, and then our rebuilding we become just that much more hard.

Re: Vikings vs. Redskins Gameday Thread

Has nothing to do with play-calling nor does it have anything to do with McNabb wanting to do it all himself. It has everything to do with the lack of consistency, boneheaded penalties on special teams, and poor tackling on defense. It's basically summed up like this. As much as the defense making some good stops in the second half, all of that goes out the window when you can't stop a 41 year old man with a broken ankle before he runs for a first down. Offense has no consistency and when you're one-dimensional, you're not going to win many ball games whether if you're playing a 7-3 team or a 3-7 team. There really isn't any excuses. This team doesn't have the ability to win when it counts. Not this year anyway.

I can only hope we see sometime in these last 5 weeks the offense have more than one good-great drive...

Not the first time DM has underthrown a ball though. We also have a shitty o-line, but DM made his share of mistake in this game.

Was it worth trading away picks that could have provided players who could have benefited the team for 8 years for two players that will only benefit the team for three years or less, fellas? hmmm....

I hear ya, but then you need to block the play properly--again, it's execution, not playcalling, at least not on that one. You had your speed guy 5 yards behind the D, and didn't score. Instead, you settle for 3. And be honest, fellas--how many of you thought we were going to get 7 when Armstrong didn't get in on the bomb? I sure didn't.

Anyway, we don't have the players. That's my obvious and much repeated point.

I tell ya I know it was a penalty but that late flag really pisses me off it's like they were waiting to see if he scored.

It is the quality of the fans, not the stadium. I was a young child when we left Lanham, but my folks went to many Skins games at RFK and they said that place was rocking to the point the actual structure was rocking at times. The ticket prices weren't nearly as outrageous, so everyone could go, even the blue collar types. Those folks loved football and appreciated a winner. Now a lot of the people that go are just probably govt yuppies/ contracters looking for an excuse to party, and not big football fanatics. The Bighouse in Ann Arbor is the same way. They squeeze 112,000 + in there and it isn't as loud as Ford Field at times or back when Bo was the HC.

Unfortunately Shanahan wouldn't have been the type of coach that would have stuck with Campbell and tough it out one bad year for the sake of rebuilding.

Trading away Campbell was a good move. He would have not lasted for long with us regardless and grabbing a 4th rounder for the future() for his poor performance in the past two years was damn good. In hindsight, I think having Rex in so that our draft position would have been higher would have been the better strategy.

Re: Vikings vs. Redskins Gameday Thread

Also, the phenomena isn't just Fedex, but everywhere. The real fans are locked out because of the outrageous pricing, and you just get s lot of the corporate types in there that really aren't all that into it. I think a part of it is also cultural, as we have been sort of cowed into being less vocal in public.
