What does worry me is players showing up out of shape (guys like Trent Williams who need to be watched closely for the first few years) and rookies making less of an impact due to the fact that they'll have less time to study the playbooks and their reps will be cut due to a lack of OTA's, mini camps, and possibly training camp practices.

The quality of the on field product could really suffer this year if they wait till July or August to hammer out a CBA.

Yeah, about a minute after I hit reply I felt that I should have clarified that statement. Personally I believe that Trent will continue to work hard and progress. I just think it's worth it for the team to take tabs on him from time to time. The slacking concerns were probably overblown on draft day and certainly not at the Andre Smith level, but nevertheless it was one of his red flags on draft day.

In short I probably unfairly singled him out as he's been nothing but top shelf since he got here. I probably should have used Haynesworth as the poster boy.

Luckily for us the culture has changed so much that in looking at the roster I can't really see anyone that is at risk for slacking off besides Albert. Trent was a reach on my part.
