According to NFL.com, if you go by total defense, the Redskins ranked 13th. Three of the top 5 defenses from 2011 (Houston, New York Jets, and San Francisco) have been rumored to be interested in Manning. Seattle and Kansas City, 9th and 11th, are also rumored to be interested. The lowest ranked defensive team rumored to be interested in Manning is Denver at 20. Really, when you rank the teams rumored to be interested, we are one of the WORST from 2011.

Regarding your last, how on earth do you see the skins as more likely to go to the playoffs than either Miami or Arizona? Both teams have far more talent than we do. I'm not saying it wont work out that way, but you completely dismiss better teams. I think you are looking at this too much from a redskins fan perspective and not a realistic one.
I guess I can't argue stats. However I just think we seem to have played better. No different then the Patriots who gave up yards all season but were hard to score against... they tightened up in the red zone which we did. We held many teams to 20 or less points all season even the teams known to put up more then big scores.

To me I don't see Miami's OL being any better then ours... or worse. Arizona doesn't have a ton of CAP room and only has 1 decent WR. Kolb also was rushed a lot. As was the QB in Miami. Denver might be the team in better shape but their CAP space is not as good as ours. The Jets might be able to sign PM but thats it.

I'm looking at the overall picture. We have the CAP room for PM and his associates. We have a stingy defense. Our offense could have won us some games with a more accurate QB and better WR's. If our offense put up 10 more points per game we would have won most of our games which would have taken us into the playoffs.

Perhaps I'm drinking from the cool aid but atleast from my perspective the team is not as far off as the media and some fans would like for everyone to believe.
