Re: London Fletcher re-signs with Redskins
People always seem to forget Clark spent two years as a Giant first.

Imagine if the Redskins drafted that kid from Arizona State named Vontaze Burfict. If London Fletcher mentored him Burfict would indeed be the best inside LB in professional football one day. |

I've seen Burfict fall into the late rounds in a lot of mock drafts due to character concerns and a poor combine; however, he has fantastic game tape and the Ray Lewis comparisons alone should warrant a late draft pick. If we could pick him up in the fifth and let Fletcher mentor him we could have one of the biggest steals in this draft. |

Good teams draft great players an keep them. We are finally doing the poor mans version of that by keeping fletch.
I'd like to get to the point where we are more than the team that gives out crazy contracts or is used for leverage against the team a FA really wants to play for. |

Hellllll no. Kid ran over a 5.0 in the 40, AND I watched some of vids of him and he has 0 instincts as a LB. I'll be shocked if this guy gets drafted before round 5. Add this along with his crappy attitude and lack of control. No way, no how do I want this assclown on the Skins squad.

^ Yeah I always forget clark was a Giant before a skin. Amazing how he went undrafted.
Also what is the final numbers that London got for his new deal. People here keeping blurting out different amounts, but no one has given a source as to what it actually is.

Vontaze has talent. Don't get me wrong. The dude can literally make Guards fly. He has the perfect NFL MLB body. He was a HIGHLY touted recruit coming out of high school, thats why everyones mentioning him. Monty Kiffin who is one of the most respected NFL Defensive Coordinator's of our time said that Vontaze will be starting sundays without a doubt. We look like we have a great situation with London here to 'mentor' and 'tame' him, but we also have our own problems with Fred (Cheech) and Trent (Chong). Pittsburgh with Tomlin, Polamalu, Clark, Keisel, and Woodley would make it an ideal spot for Vontaze, but just like us, they have their own headcases like James Harrison and Big Ben (of old; but still). New England would be an ideal spot, but to the same token, they already have Spikes and Mayo, so theres not really a need for a 3rd ILB. And Spikes isn't exactly the most soft spoken guy out there. Then you have Baltimore. That is about the best fit I can think of. Ray Lewis can mentor anyone. Ray is on his last legs of his NFL career and Vontaze who was once considered the next Ray Lewis (some of his highlights do definitely suggest that) what is a more perfect fit that Baltimore to replace one Ray with another version of Ray. Green Bay and Chicago also seem like fits for him, but they both don't really go after the players with major past problems. All in all, I say that the Redskins should take a chance on Vontaze if he is there in the 6th round, because after all, your draft isn't going to be perfect. You're going to have a good chunk of your draft thats going to be players that aren't going to even be in the league 2 years from now. We have wasted picks on guys we absolutely didn't need in the past. We have a need for an ILB. If he's good, keep him. If he's bad, then get rid of him, its just a 6th round pick. Then again he could go undrafted...

Re: London Fletcher re-signs with Redskins
Burfict could end up being another Randy Moss. He may be someone who a lot of teams will pass on and then end up actually having spectacular seasons and make teams regret that they didn't draft him. I do agree that he is worth a draft choice. Somewhere between the 5th and 7th rounds.
