#2 meaning if RGIII gets hurt Rex comes into the game. If RGIII is hurt for an extended period of time I would bet Cousins gets the starts though. Rex is the guy they don't have to spend the whole preparing him to play. He's just plug and play.
But at some point, he's just a blank spot. If he is on this year, it's a high probability he won't contribute one bit, and if he does, history shows he gives us about a 50% win rate. Cousins won't contribute at all if he stays, but he's got to be on the roster, not going to PS because another team will pick him up, so why have two deadspots at backup qb. Doesn't seem worth it, especially considering the battles going on at other spots. If we keep all 4 RBs and 2 FBs, it's pretty much a guarantee all 6 will contribute during the season. I know Rex is a comfort zone keep, but I think Cousins showed enough that Rex' spot ought to be at least within the discussion of the cuts.
