I completely agree, but Nick Mangold is a Pro Bowl center, and you know he won't come cheap. And who's to say the Jets will release him? Just because his contract might be up doesn't mean the Jets don't want him back.

Mangold isn't going to be a FA folks, the Jets locked him up back in August

How the Nick Mangold contract negotiations were resurrected
Ouch. Mangold is a moot point then. I heard his sister plays football though. Maybe she can play better than Rabach at this point.

Houston might not want him though, although I'm not entirely sure how comfortable they are with Amobi Okoye down there.

If the Houston GM would even listen to an offer of Haynesworth for Steve Slaton and a 2nd round pick, you had better check his blood alcohol level. It is probably in the .30 range...

Albert Haynesworth's value on the trade market MIGHT be a conditional sixth round pick.

If the Skins don't like that deal, they have two choices:

a. They keep Haynesworth one more year.

b. They release Haynesworth/waive Haynesworth and get nothing for him.

Were you not part of this site when his sister was?

O-Line to Keep

~ T. Williams
~ W. Montgomery
~ Dockery (probably re-work deal)

That's it .... draft another OL in 1st Round ... sign Steve Breaston WR .. maybe Reggie Wayne WR ...

I love this quote and believe in it 100%

Any other focus this off-season WITHOUT 1st addressing the Oline....

Till we get a solid O-Line our offense will continue to stink. We have to be able to run the ball to set up playaction and the longball.

It feels good to see fellow skins fans coming around to how you REALLY build a contender........Slaton + fumbleist =

get the best player available in the draft and fill in the holes.

I see the Dan Snyder/Vinny Cerrato philosophy is still being implemented. If you would have said "skill players later in the draft"...ok. Only going after skill players is why we are in this mess

We're also paying for the sins of trading picks away like confetti. Trading a 3rd and a 4th for Brandon Lloyd and another 3rd and 4th for TJ Duckett were horrendously bad moves. Hell, I'm still irked that we tossed in a 2nd to complete the Portis for Champ Bailey trade. If anything Gibbs/Snyder should have demanded that we receive an extra pick given the value of a true shutdown corner. Moving forward, I'm hoping that Shanahan and Allen value draft picks, stockpile them, and use them to get more youth, speed, and depth on a roster that's sorely lacking.

Re: Steve Slaton

What I want to know is when did Dock start playing like garbage? I thought he was doing well at the beginning and then all of a sudden he was playing back up. I definitely agree if we do not address the O-line first and foremost, nothing else we do will matter. Who cares if you have good receivers, running back and even QB if no one has the time to do anything b/c the line is always getting blown up. Why would you think Capers and Cook would be any better next year if they weren't good enough to make the squad this year?
