Al Saunders called the plays. I don't think there's any doubt. But the plays developed from a Joe Gibbs-inspired game plan.

Clearly Gibbs had a hand in it (Counter Trey).

i think sanders called a lot,but i also think gibbs called a few,or strongly suggested a few near the goal line!

I know that Saunders called that misdirection call that ended in a sack. The worst call of the game.

Saunders definitely. What I keep saying is give that offense some time to develop, they appear to be getting there. With that being said, Coach Gibbs influence was, like stated earlier, obvious. Him and Saunders are going to definitely get things down in the offseason, and you'll see a steller combination of Skins circa 1980s offense and Chiefs circa 2000s offense next season, maybe even for the final two games this season, there were obvious glimpses of it today too.

Can we get off this who called the plays nonsense? Saunders is calling the game. If you look at the game you can tell Gibbs IS NOT calling plays. And frankly I'm glad he's not calling the game anymore.

Re: Who do you think called the plays today?
Yes please get over the dumb talk of who is calling the plays. It sounds pretty ignorant after every game. Gibbs called the plays that did good and Al Saunders called the ones that did not work, what the hell kind of shit is that non sense talk. It was a well called game, with the exception of the problems that still loom in the redzone. Though we had some inconsistancy in the passing game, I think Campbell throwing deep really opens up the ground game. Once he gets his accuracy down a little on some key plays and connects the offense will definitely have found a dominating offensive game.

Re: Who do you think called the plays today?
Saunders called the plays today just like he has all season long. Even if they have used old Redskins plays such as the counter Trey, that doesn't mean Joe Gibbs called the plays. I'm sure Gibbs will suggest certain plays for Saunders to throw in the mix, and suggest a round about "jest" of the game plan, but it's Saunders who calls the plays.
I felt he tried to call a little more aggressive game plan today which I thought was something we needed to have, but at times he got a little too cute with it. Feeding the ball to Betts was the best thing for us to do today, and as a direct result of doing so, it has allowed us to open it up more down field.

Re: Who do you think called the plays today?
Saunders has been calling the plays all year and will continue to do so next year.
Let's put this thing to bed once and for all. |

Re: Who do you think called the plays today?
There will shortly come a time when we thank our lucky stars for Al Saunders. Honestly, the offense was flawed and it struggled a lot last year -- so I certainly had no expectations that Saunders was going to sprinkle some magic dust on the same group of guys, along with two new receivers and a rookie quarterback and turn us into steam rollers.
While I won't have the same sort of hope for the defense, the offense should be clicking come September '07. |

I definitely think we starting to see the beginnings of what this offense can do. They have been piling up the yardage, now they just need to finish drives.

For the billionth time. Al Saunders calls the plays. How many times is this going to be questioned?
