I never had any overly serious injuries, but my right shoulder sounds like gravel from the pounding it took over the years. I also have a fallen arch in my left foot that bugs me occasionally.
The worst injury I was ever a part of was a severely broken tibia, that I had a hand in causing by sandwiching a guy between myself and another player. An ambulance was actually brought onto the field. It was pretty rough.

Almost forgot, scariest injury that I have ever witnessed...
During lacrosse practice in high school a good buddy of mine was playing defense and lit me up big time... He absolutley laid me out while I was coming across the middle.
A few minutes passed and he started feeling sick, and began to vomit excessivley. We called the ambulance right away and it turns out he had a blood vessel pop in his brain. The doctors gave him a 50-50 chance to live. Some really scary stuff... but everything healed fine, and he's actually playing defense for Navy last time I talked to him.
See what happends when you hit a stud like me.... (just kidding... just kidding)

The part about the boot sucks, but reading this line by itself is pretty funny. What happened after you were knocked out? :laughing2

My boys dragged my arse out of the other Company billet and threw me in my bunk. Woke up a few hours later with a screaming headache and just got on with my day. 5 mile run, drill for 3 hours, lunch, gun range for the afternoon, PT for an hour then dress parade for fucking about during PT.
I puked a few times and have a wicked memory loss to this day (only the serious stuff, I remeber non-essential shit like you wouldn't believe) but it was fun at the time.
Nowadays I'd get sent to the medic and mollicoddled for a week. British Army was crazy back in '78.

I knew a kid from a different HS who accidently put his hand through a window trying to stop after running wind sprints in a hallway. The problem was, it was one of the school windows with the mesh inside, so when he pulled his arm back out almost all of the skin got ripped from the bone. He actually had to get flown to shock trauma. It required a bunch of skin graphts (sp?) and everything. He lost a ton of weight and was never the same wrestler when he came back.
I wasn't there for it but that kid loved to show off the pictures that the doctors took of his arm. They looked like pizza without the cheese.

I've actually heard and seen worse. My Regiment played Field Hockey against a regiment of Women's Royal Army Corps and they beat the snot out of us. One lad had his ankle broken. I learned to treat women the way they treat me on that day.
