Not sure, I heard someone ask about the QB situation and I can just remember him saying he wasn't going to address it.
Yeah he basically said he wasn't going to address any specifics about the game until he has a chance to watch it.
I didn't get the impression he implied anything about Brunell.
The general vibe I got from him is a change is coming. He did mention that he thought about bringing in Collins, and that's the first time we've ever head him even mention the possibility of changing QBs so I think that's significant.

I heard the same thing and my thought was Collins? Why bring him in any game unless Brunold is hurt? There's enough film on Collins' 11 years that we know what he can do. We need to know what Campbell will do..
I recall Gibbs-I with great reverence, but more and more I think he's in over his head in todays NFL. The team and offense looks virtually no different than it did 2 years ago. Brunold is doing the same exact things that got him benched in '04. Not throwing the ball downfield, not moving the team, not converting 3rd downs but Gibbs is reluctant to make any change. Does anyone besides Gibbs and Brunold think that #8 is our best chance to win games? 3-6 says he's not. Campbell can lose games and not move the offense, but give him a chance at least.

Because he is our #2 QB.
skinsfan69 11-12-2006, 10:41 PM i like reading all the input but, i don't want snyder making the decisions over who is playing positions. today, and this season has sucked but let's not bash gibbs. he deserves better.
Sorry but Gibbs needs to be bashed. If this was anyone else this town would be ready to hang the head coach. And if he runs Brunell or Collins out there next week I'm going to simply turn off my TV.
skinsguy 11-12-2006, 10:44 PM Yes, Gibbs is way too loyal to Brunell. Sadly, Gibbs' loyalty to him has made this a wasted season. And I'm not saying it's all Brunell's fault.
???? You're not saying it's MB's fault, but Gibbs' loyality to MB has made this a losing season. Certainly sounds like it's his fault to me.
SmootSmack 11-12-2006, 10:45 PM I think it can be tough to balance the responsibilities of a head coach and the responsibilites of being team president. I think that Gibbs as a coach has nothing more to ever prove to anyone. I don't want him to retire again just yet but if he walks to the podium tomorrow and says he's done then he should be able to do it with his head held high.
Because he has nothing left to prove as a head coach I don't think he's concerned about starting Campbell quite yet. Because what he wants, I think, is for people to be able to say many years down the road Joe Gibbs the President gave the Redskins Jason Campbell, Pro-Bowl QB.
I know I'm not stating well what I mean to say. But basically I just don't think it's as important to him that Campbell starts now because he's looking for Campbell to be the long-term answer. Not the quick fix. If Campbell is successful after Gibbs is gone that would be much more satisfying to Gibbs than if he struggles now.
GTripp0012 11-12-2006, 10:48 PM This just in... MB cannot handle the blitz. If we all know this ya think other teams do? It's time for a change at qb (even if its collins).A lot of these points there is no defense for, but when you consistently see recievers not reading blitz, not adjusting their routes, not looking back for the ball, the QB is going to get killed. Every time. Eagles blitzed and Brunell had no place to go with the football.
And for the record, changing to Collins is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. What is he going to do better than Brunell? You'd go to Campbell because he's going to be around next year, and he might do one or two things better right now.

Makes sense to me. Certainly Gibbs wants to bring home another trophy, but I believe he at least wants to right the ship and put this organization back in good standings before it's all said and done...even if it means who ever inherits the head coaching job is the guy who gets the glory of a SB win, Gibbs can feel good knowing he helped to build the team.
Certainly doesn't look good right now, but if anything, Gibbs will bring the message of playing like a team to this organization, which WILL pay off in the long run.

The Eagles blitzed as much as they did because they, like every other team, have no respect for our deep passing game.
Citizens for 81 11-12-2006, 10:53 PM Brunell or Campbell. Starting Collins is puss, winning with him accomplishes nothing.
Either they fix what they got now or start building for the future, none of this half-ass, middle-of-the road bs.
