LOL!!!!!! One was operating with a gm. The other is the head coach/gm/president.

Good point. It's like we tried to bring back everything that made us such a powerhouse in the 80's except a great GM.

Jason Campbell is running the Joe Gibbs offense. No one is running the Gregg Williams defense. And now the mother of all off-seasons awaits.
In Redskin land, there is no such thing as plan B and thus the patience of Dan Snyder will be tested, as it never has before. Should Gibbs be true to his word and decide to return for a fourth and potentially fifth season, will Snyder force him to make changes? For the first time under his stewardship, Snyder has a coach he can’t micromanage. You can’t mess with an icon, even if the icon is the pilot of a crashing jet. You just put on your oxygen mask and use some blind faith.

I just find it funny how this thread is so 'lame', and you have no faith in Gibbs if you doubt the direction of the team right now.

Interesting find. I bet a lot of people are going to say that it's all wrong but then they won't say why. Should be fun.

Man this thead is still active?

Once again for the love of God: Gibbs isn't going anywhere

Just get over it already. People have been (excuse my french) bitching about this since the Redskins started sucking this season. Lets see the whiners get in there and do a better job. Once you do, I'll agree Gibbs needs to take his walking papers. God, its like if you don't get to the playoffs every year then something must be wrong with: The front office, the coaches, the players, God himself. And that means we should fire everyone and start all over again because there are SO many better coaches out there besides Joe Gibbs, right? The players on the otherhand, I could see some cuts and some new faces, but what happened to the whole, "stick with what you know" approach? Just because you go to the playoffs one year, doesn't mean that all of a sudden, you're supposed the new Colts and everything is just supposed to gel. And you're supposed to go 16-0 and beat on everyone in your division and go to the Superbowl. Especially when half of last year's squad is gone!

Granted, everyone had high hopes considering the new faces and high played players brought in here, and I believe everyones disappointed, but disappointed enough to wanna fire a Hall of Fame coach? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

I hate it as much as everyone does when the Skins look like a bunch of pop warner football players running around like chickens with their heads cut off but damned if the so called "diehard" fans aren't the first to jump off the bandwagon when things go sour.

People are just like sheep. Poor helpless sheep that need to be put down. :Smoker:

Yes yes!!!! I'm with you man!

So you're not? You're not just following everyone else? You think this team is going to get better based on blind faith, but you're somehow different than people how look at this team going down the crapper and worry?

And I really don't think any of us that don't have much faith don't still love this team. Likewise, I'd be thrilled if Gibbs could turn it all around. I'd be suprised, but I'd be happy.

Blind faith is a redundant phrase. All faith is blind, considering faith is based on the beliefs of things unseen. With a man who has been more than successful coaching in this league and has championships to prove it, and can go to another sport and put together a championship team there as well, it's really not so strange why people would be patient with Gibbs. Oh, and don't give me the same tired "the game has changed since he coached in the 80's"....nothing has dramatically changed so much that a coaching mind like Joe Gibbs can't adjust to. If anything that has changed is been the attitudes of the players. It's became too much of a "me" type of game...nobody has loyality or patience to stick it out with one team anymore. In my opinion, it is tougher for guys like Gibbs to coach up good teams....NOT because of the game, but because of the players.

So, the few of us (yes Matt I said few as your poll does indicate that) who have the balls to call for the resignation of a Hall of Fame Coach are "sheep" even though we support our argument with facts, while you who continue to blindly follow the Hall of Fame coach and give him a "lifetime pass" are the better fans? That is some interesting logic. Do you think we like what the state of the team is? Do you think we enjoy tuning in each and every week to watch this team lose? The sheep are those that never question the logic and the decision making even though the slaughterhouse is dead ahead.

So its the players, not the coach. One question, who ultimately selected these players? And two, under your philosophy a head coach should never ever be fired, because its not the coach, its the players. Oh yeah, by the way, Gibbs won 3 superbowls with a qualified GM, not with him and Vinny coming up with a "Redskin Score."

I guess there's alot of blind faith followers here I guess. Or maybe we just don't have the "balls" that certain individuals do. I knew there would be some sort of lame reason to explain away the poll results.

It's not a black and white issue. Those that have faith in this staff can and still do question the current state of things. I'm not happy with the current situation, I never said I was. I just don't want to see another coaching upheaval. Consistency starts at the top of an organization, and making another change will put us back at square one again.

OH GREAT MATT, I never made an excuse for the poll results, you posted the poll and it looks like about 18% agree with me, so you are right that most redskins fans on this site agree with you. Does that make them right? No. Most voters voted Bush to a 2nd term (Im a Republican by the way, and I did too) but that doesn't make them right. So, if I represent the distinct minority, then so be it. You cannot deny that you're a blind faith follower Matt, you probably wanted Spurrier to stay on as well. STAY THE COURSE TITANIC MAN. By the way, I never did hear that argument to bring Gibbs back for a 4th season based upon his performance over the last 3 years, but that's ok, you have your poll.
