We've had these debates before... I think more than anything we should just focus on LaVar's well being for now.
I wasn't trying to sound too insensitive. I didn't offer up anything but good wishes until I heard that despite a couple of broken bones he will fully recover. Once that was established I had to put in my two cents. To take that risk with newborn twins is deplorable.

Don't understand the things with pro athletes and bikes of any sort. I know it looks cool ala Easy Rider, but is not the safest way to travel in heavy traffic, etc. Remember Testeverde at Miami with that moped back in what 85-86? Guy was lucky he didn't get totally creamed. Guys think that they are invincible and can do whatever they want, but alas, they are flesh and bone just like everyone else. That being said, what is with the rash of car/bike accidents happening over the past couple months? It seems like every other week some pro athlete has been in a motor vehicle accident.

Man this is horrible news, it is kind of upsetting to see his once promising career completely diminishing.

This seems to be the latest from JLaC at the Post:
LaVar Arrington's Motorcycle Accident (UPDATED 6th TIME) - Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2007/06/lavar_arringtons_motorcycle_ac.html?nav=rss_blog)
Broken bones, but sounds like he's ok--no head injury.

Overall that is a really good update, all things considered. No head injury is GREAT news!
Doesn't sound like Lavar, will be playing football anytime soon, if ever?
But GREAT UPDATE!

Oh how the once mighty have fallen. I'm glad to hear that he didn't suffer any head trauma, hopefully the broken bones will heal and he can get back to playing football.

Damn that sucks!
Good to hear it seems to be "minor" injuries (no head/spinal)

Hence the reason for my post. The focus should not be on motorcycle safety in this instance. I hope he recovers fully.

He never looked right in that blue uniform. I am very happy that it isn't life threatening or going to permanently affect him.
I am digressing but there was this On Demand HBO documentary on people who had serious head injuries because of alcohol related accidents (not that Lavar was drunk but there were rumors of a head injury). It is one of the most depressing things that I have ever seen. A lot of people don't think about people who survive life threatening accidents and then live the rest of their life with the mental capacity of an 8 year old.

When I was watching the news earlier-nbc(washington)- it said that he was considering coming back to the skins or retiring. We don't want you back after all the smack talk! Don't get me wrong i loved him in his day, and I hope he's ok, hey hey hey.........
