He was a freelancer who probably didn't apply himself as much as he could have in the film room. You're right, his physical talents allowed him to do that. I think that's what led to his clashes with the Redskins' coaching staff. GW tried to reel him in a bit and he obviously didn't respond very well to it.
Oh well, it's over now. I wish him well, he was and probably always will be a fan favorite, but you can't help but wonder what he could have been.
dallass-blows 2 06-20-2007, 05:53 PM should we sign him?
just kidding
skinsfan_nn 06-20-2007, 06:50 PM Give the guy a break. He was the best thing to happen to the Redskins in the last ten years. I know this sound crazy, but I fantasized that he would come back and play for the Skins. I hope the best for him, and I hope he finds a way back on the field.
I wish nothing but the best and a speedy recovery for LA. However, I really hope that's a joke.........? If not your better off living in that fantasy land.
#56fanatic 06-20-2007, 06:56 PM I keep reading how people want to say he was stupid for riding a motorcycle. just because you think its stupid doesn't make it a fact, and because I dont doesn't make it a fact either. He wasn't under contract with any team, apparently was thinking of retiring, and accidents happen. Walking, running, riding a freaking mountain bike, anything can happen. I dont hear any news saying he was driving like an idiot, he wasn't drinking he just lost control. I think we are all getting away from the main point here, which is the well being of a former Redskin. I hope he heals up, luckily he didn't break his leg as was reported and maybe he can play football again. He is only 28, a year off, rehab like crazy, rest his knees and body and who knows what could happen. These guys are football players until the day they die, and if at all possible they will do anything and everything they can to suit it up one more year.
of course in my eyes, he is still a Redskin and I believe in his eyes as well. He was a Redskin park last week hanging out with his OLD teammates.

No, but riding a specialized motor vehicle, whether it be a tractor trailer or a motorcycle, without the proper training, no matter who does it, I believe qualifies empirically as stupid as defined above, under either (2) or (3).
It was a poor decision and marked a lack of intelligence or care.

Gotta agree with that. I've been riding for over 10 years, but when I started riding, I made sure I took a lot of advice and followed the laws of the road and got a permit.
KLHJ2 06-21-2007, 11:54 PM OK so he wasnt the brightest light on the tree, but he was still one hell of a LB when he wasnt hurt. People said he freelanced, but look at the plays he made. I would hate to imagine what the skins D would have looked like without him. While I don't want us to resign him I hope that he makes a full recovery. If he does happen to get picked up by someone else I hope he returns to form.
With all of that said yes, it was stupid for him to ride under the conditions that he was, but everyone makes mistakes.
