How about a draw play, but very delayed. Have the QB drop back and wait a few seconds. The D will think it's definitely a passing play, then hand the ball off to a back and hit the huge holes that should be there. Call 2 passing plays before this one to make them think you're airing it out.

I'm sure at that age, the defenders aren't going to be able to watch for the run while going back in pass coverage, to their minds, it's either pass or run and they'll make up their mind and commit to one...then you do the other. :)

Only problem is, at this age, our offensive line can't handle pressure for that long. Most times we only have a limited amount of time to hold onto the ball before we have to throw it away or run it. :(

Darn. OK, plan B. Hire an ice cream truck to drive by. Use a clown in the 2nd half. Warn your kids about it and tell them that if they ignore it during the game, you'll buy them ice cream after the game.

Hopefully the other team's D will be distracted, if they even stay on the field. :D

My plan C was to make sure I shaved and then I was just going to suit up.

BEAST.

I was the only coach to get thrown out of a game last year. :D
This is a like admitting you are a hockey player who stabbed someone in the neck with their skate... :D

It was awesome. I was standing up for something I believe in.

I think kids are too impressionable these days and it's the TOs and general douchebags teaching kids that it's alright to be "all about some THEM".

If there is anything I make very clear to my kids is that I expect sportsmanship. I'll put one of my players and bench them the whole game if they talk any shit.

What I got thrown out for was the last game of the season. This other kid was running for a TD holding the ball back running JUST ahead of our guy kind of like, "You want this ball? You want this?!" and NO PENALTY was called. The kid did it for like twenty yards!

I went apeshit on the ref and got tossed.

hopefully the kid had decent enough parents to have a talk with him..but anymore, parents encourage that kind of behavior

Is their an official rule against that kid's action? :D

Sure it's bad sportsmanship, but...who knows. Good job on getting tossed. You have to do it at least once. :)

If you could call me old school on that, then I guess I'm old school. If you want to celebrate with your teammates after a good play, that's fine, just don't do it at someone else's expense.

Nice. Any parent would support your antics in front of the ref in that circumstance.

I got an idea. Annexation of Peurto Rico.

But seriously, same play as your 24 Lead, except the QB fakes the handoff and sweeps out to the right sideline. This way your 3 RBs go running off right guard and your QB slips behind them out to the right. You can alternate this play and the 24 Lead, and before you know it I think the kids on D will be wondering who's got the ball, the RB or the QB. Key to the play will be the right TE and the right T to push forward real hard with a good surge, and get the kids in the middle of the defense "caught in the wash" to spring the QB around the edge.

Only works if your QB isn't a slow oaf.
