Is Anyone Else Getting That '05 Season Vibe?prinzeofmoval 12-12-2007, 10:38 PM its like pitching a no-no..dont talk about it anymore or you'll jinx it.. skinsfan69 12-13-2007, 10:59 AM Worry not. The Saints would be lucky as hell to do any better than 2-2 here on out. They are really, really bad. Arizona has a soft schedule that includes the Saints...we have them if we win out, but if we don't win out, then I don't know. They could win their final three really easily. I still think 8-8 gets us in, provided we beat the Vikings. The Saints are not really really bad. Atl is really really bad. Saints are probably better than we are. skinsfan69 12-13-2007, 11:03 AM I've debated even replying in this thread for the sheer fact that there is a huge mountain in front of the Redskins right now. Between injuries, Sean Taylor, lost run game, and lack of execution, it's really hard to get the 2005 vibe, especially after losing to the Bills. That was the 5th time this year the Skins found a way to lose after having the lead going into the 4th. And while the Skins are not mathematically eliminated yet, but it's hard to see exactly how things will turn out when they play what will most likely be the 1, 5 and 6 seeds in the playoffs. Granted, they have a bit of momentum going now after beating the Bears, but I just cannot see it carrying the Redskins into the playoffs. For shits and giggles, let's say they do win out and make it as the 6 seed by virtue of Vikings and Saints collapses. Their first round opponent: Seattle. A Seattle team who are 6-1 at home so far, have won 5 straight, and have a fairly easy 3 game schedule (at Carolina, Baltimore, and at Atlanta) going into the postseason. So now, you've got the Skins facing 4 opponents in a row over .500. At some point, the season will catch up to the Redskins... Exactly. Even if we somehow make the playoffs, which I highly doubt we will, we are looking at playing Seattle at Seattle. Does anyone honestly think that we can go up to NY and beat the Giants and then turn around and beat Minn. at Minn? C'mon. It's not going to happen. MTK 12-13-2007, 11:38 AM Exactly. Does anyone honestly think that we can go up to NY and beat the Giants and then turn around and beat Minn. at Minn? C'mon. It's not going to happen. Sure, why not? It's not like the Giants and Vikings are head and shoulders above the Skins. Both games should be pretty evenly matched. I could see the Skins losing both, and I could see them winning both just as easy. Redskin Warrior 12-13-2007, 11:43 AM Exactly. Seattle are scrubs the only reason they make the playoffs every year is b/c they are in the sorriest divison in the NFL. St. Louis, Arizona & San Fran c'mon they aren't that tough at all. Minn we are tough against the run we have been as high as 5 against the run. Without ST b/c he really was playing centerfield for us. Our linebacker core is serious. NY is our only concern to me but they are on one week off the next you never know. Ocliw 12-13-2007, 11:50 AM The only vibe I get is pure confusuion. It's impossible to predict or even give an educated guess on the remaining games because we just never know which Skin's team is going to show up. Of course but that is true of everyone in the league and it is really any given Sunday. But all I'm saying is I feel it you may not but don't bring more negative to the situation than hope. It's 50-50 honestly & realistic of course. But I might feel it's in the skins favor which I do as a fan I look at what we can do what we are capable of doing that is winning. Saying something negative in a post is not going to effect the outcome of a game. It's not like I just jinxed the team. Of course we can win and I hope we do, I just answered the question of the thread title. skinsfan69 12-13-2007, 02:21 PM Sure, why not? It's not like the Giants and Vikings are head and shoulders above the Skins. Both games should be pretty evenly matched. I could see the Skins losing both, and I could see them winning both just as easy. No the Giants and Minn are not head and shoulders above us. But looking how we have lost games this year, I just don't see us winning back to back road games. Nothing I've seen this season gives me confidence we can win those games. Looking back, blowing leads to Buff, NYG and Philly are really going to come back and get us in the end. skinsfan69 12-13-2007, 02:24 PM Seattle are scrubs the only reason they make the playoffs every year is b/c they are in the sorriest divison in the NFL. Well Arizona almost, and very easily could have beaten us w/ a 1 armed QB. I'm not saying Seattle is great but they are good and I highly doubt we could go into Seattle and win a playoff game. |
