I am a bit surprised over this, I really thought Snyder would have wanted to make a splash and go with the sexy hire. Maybe he wanted to and the Giants got to Spags before an offer was made, or maybe the report that Spags and Snyder agreed he wasn't quite ready was true, who knows. All signs seem to point to Fassel and I guess they probably have all along. We'll see though.

You all know we have missed interviewing several coaches. Mora SR., Dan Reeves, Jerry Glandville(has always been a favorite of mine.), John Madden(BOOM), hey maybe we can find a way to get Al Davis. Great Minds think alike. lol.

At this rate, why doesn't he just go dig up Lombardi and have him coach. I bet he still could. Can't do any worse than Spurrier.

You actually might have something here. Kinda like Lennon in Russia. Put him(Lombardi) in a wheel chair....yeah that's it. Put him in a wheel chair. Who's gunna deny us the privilage of hiring a handicap coach? DS would look like a Saint, People would be talking about his ability to get the great old coaches back, Handicap people everywhere would be rooting for the Skins which means more sales. I can only think of one negative and thats that he would probubly request handicap parking close to the building.

I've got a good buddy who's a Giants fan and is pretty in tune to some of their behind the scenes workings. Take this for what it is but he says that while Spags was genuinely interested in sitting down and discussing the HC job with Snyder, his main motivation was to use the interview as leverage for a nice pay increase from the Giants, and Snyder was aware of this. He really didn't want to leave NY and the report that said he wasn't quite ready for a HC job actually holds some merit. Snyder probably wasn't going to offer him the job. Spags is quite happy in NY, he's now the highest paid DC in the league, and in another year or two he will get serious again for a HC job.

The Redskins legacy is as one of the prime teams in NFL history. Now we are the verge of becoming in the DC Met area what the Jets are in NY; the JV. That's what happens when you hire as your head coach the guy that the team who used to be the area JV (Ravens) fired as their coordinator. How can the Skins be the prime when their leader is the Ravens reject? If you have friends who are Jets fans in NY, ask them how they feel now that the Giants are even more the kings. That's how Skins fans will feel with Fassel in charge!
