Personally, there's no way I'd want to take a picture with that prick. And I wouldn't pretend to be his best friend either. I wouldn't even want to shake the guy's hand to be honest.

So you are saying that GW is a prick...how so? Do you think he honestly doesn't have our country's best interest at heart?

I think as US Americans (um...Americans) we should have some sort of respect for the President whether Rep or Dem. Booing the president is everyones right but i kind of look at it as a little rude and disrespectful IMO.

People don't understand that when you boo the President of the United States of America, you're not just booing GWB, you're booing everything that that office stands for. It's unacceptable but not unexpected from our rapidly degrading society.

Exactly.

Do you think he's really evil or just incompetent? And which would bother you more ultimately, to have a bad president or to have a mean president? What if you had the opportuntity to shake his hand on September 12, 2001? Was your perception different then?

I personally don't know what booing the President really accomplishes (other than some self satisfaction, I suppose), unless one thinks that by booing your influencing the opinions of others. But what will it matter if they don't go out and vote. And if they vote one way or another based on cheers/boos at a baseball game then what does that say about the people voting?

What I don't think is getting across is that "booing" in general is boorish behavior. You want to criticize, that is everyone's God-given and Constitutionally guaranteed right, but it is one thing to say "I have a problem with the manner in which you are doing your job" and another to be making a noise with negative connotations in the direction of the holder of our country's highest office. (wow, that's a run-on sentence) Booing is, by and of itself, rude. Done in the direction of an elected official, especially the President, it's that much worse. My issue is neither with the opinion nor the fact that it is being expressed. My issue is with the manner in which it was expressed.

As for the other arguments being discussed, I think that we all can be fairly judged on the sum of our actions. If you don't judge someone based on what they do, on what do you form an opinion?

I think he's too dumb to be evil.

I was no more of a fan of his on 9/12/01 than I am now. Him yelling through a bull horn on top of a pile of WTC rubbish really didn't change my opinion of him.

Booing is mean and nasty? Like I said, I'm sure 'w' has heard far worse. I'm sure it wasn't the first time he was booed. Hell... he was booed and had eggs tossed at his limo at his inauguration in 2001. LOL

Yeah, real hilarious.

This is why the political scene is so nasty, there are so many people who are completely immature and asinine when they don't agree with someone 100% of the time.

I don't care if you're a mod or not, grow up.

The position of the President needs to be respected no matter who it is or how much you disagree with him. He is not to be called "Bush", "W", "George Jr." or anything other than "President Bush" or "Mr. President".

The same went with "President Clinton" and with our members of Congress, no matter how much of an idiot they make themselves out to be sometimes. They still earned the position and deserve that respect even if you can't respect them individually.

I doubt he'd want to get a picture with someone acting like a prick himself, but he's always completely courteous to EVERYONE he meets, even if they're being immature, vulgar little idiots. When someone yells something or interrupts his speeches, he doesn't miss a beat and doesn't criticize them. I have never seen anything but class from our President, despite the fact that he's received the most horrible crap thrown his way.

Like his politics or not, he's honest with you and tells you what he believes, whether you agree or not. He doesn't govern by polls like the previous President.

You have to respect that. Of course, I doubt you will based on your prior childish comments.

I don't care if you don't call him "your" President because you can't get past politics, stop letting your heart lead your head and learn some respect.

If one of the Democrats I disagree with on nearly every issue is elected in November, sure I'll be disappointed and will publicly disagree with many of their decisions and views, but they will still get the respect of being referred to by the title they earned through votes and their work.

Hey, if you are so much more superior and can do a better job, you can run for the office. You'll get my respect even if I believe you're wrong and horrible for the job.

Also, I can't stand the idiots who say "OOOOOOO" during the National Anthem and the people who keep their hats on. Don't agree with everything your nation is doing? Neither do I, but grow up and have some respect for the nation that has been earned by the lives of brave men and women for over 200 years and has let you live in more freedom, safety and prosperity than any other nation in the world.

If you don't respect the nation, get out.

I am sure you would not boo the troops because you do not like what they are doing

A lot of morons do.

Where did I say it was hilarious? My 'LOL' was based on the fact that I said he's heard far worse than boos and I used that as an example.

If anything I thought his inauguration was a sad commentary on a botched election and a president that the general population didn't elect.

I guess you missed some of my other posts, I never said I had no respect for the guy. And just because I'm not a fan of the president that means I have no respect for the nation? Now we're really jumping to conclusions huh?

Think twice before you jump on someone next time and maybe take some of your own advice about growing up.

As a Dem, I don't even think the guy deserves to be booed. If I have such a problem with him I just wouldn't say anything.

I think silence would really have made a better impression than booing the guy. That just makes Americans look terribly unclassy.

Bush may have sucked with flying colors but at least he tried, his 8 years is up and its the end. I think its time for people to start getting over it.

And for the record I personally wouldn't boo the guy. Just to make that clear. I just don't have a problem with those that want to.
