I hope they do, they both would really give us some good depth.

Plus with the rumors of us unloading Betts for picks, I would love to have Schmitt as a backup RB. I know I wasn't for drafting him early in this process but its obvious that he has a lot of value with that third round comp pick. Especially if they get their DE in Merling or Campbell, a big-hard working reciever in Nelson, and a promising developmental prospect in Tony Hills. Plus if Bowman is healthy enough to hold down the fort for a year or two at corner then that would be a solid pickup as well and it could also help when they look for a top flight corner to replace Springs around this time next off season.

Looking at it now we'd be set up to go into next years draft looking for a DT, CB, S, and another O-Line prospect.

I wonder if they've talked to Kenny Philips at all.. for whatever reason I'm obsessed with this guy now.

Maybe its because he's a safety from a little school in miami florida thats known for having great safetys like Ed Reed and whats his name oh yeah the late great Sean Taylor..lol..i've wanted this guy also he's a great player

Mon, 7 Apr 2008 16:58:03 -0700

J.J. Pesavento, of Next Level Scouting, reports Notre Dame DL Trevor Laws is scheduled to visit with the Washington Redskins April 7 and April 8.

Let the man crushes fly.

Brandon Flowers is on nfl network right now, he sounds pretty good in interviews & has some charisma. I'm a Hokie so I'm biased, but I would love it if we got him in the 2nd.

Mike Mayock said he's the best corner in the draft but he rates him at #5 due to his lack of speed. Also said he's a "tough instincitve corner w/great ball skills" and would be a "great cover 2 corner."

laws and hardie would be great picks... godfrey and porter are two of the cbs i wanted too, so, while some names are still missing, they're hitting some of the guys i'd like to see ;)

Ed Thompson caught up with Johnson while he was traveling. He is set to visit with the Redskins.

I sware, the front office schdules the weirdest pre-draft visits. Plus I'm loving how ES puts up a new thread for every pre-draft visit.

Add Eddie Royal, and you might need to add Jamar Adams and DJ Hall (not positive yet)

Chris Johnson would only be picked if we traded away Ladell Betts which I don't see happening.

I also presume that the team might have visited with Dwight Lowery (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/cb/dwightlowery.html) but I don't have access to Warpath insiders so I can't confirm that either.

D.J. Hall (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/wr/djhall.html) looks like a smart visit, if it's true, and it's possible that the team could get him in the 5th round, which would allow the team to hold down the Reciever position for another year.
