They're not really showing their cards much
Confirmed Pre-Draft VisitsSmootSmack 04-19-2008, 02:49 PM They're not really showing their cards much Dirtbag59 04-19-2008, 02:53 PM They're not really showing their cards much I'll argue that they're showing most of their cards, but they're keeping a lot of their key cards hidden. In turn where as the Patriots rely on leaking as little information as possible I think the Redskins are trying a strategy where they leak so much information that people trying to track what the team is doing will go through information overload. Basically they got it to where anyone following the team could see around 4 or 5 players that they might select if they end up keeping that 21st pick. Dirtbag59 04-21-2008, 02:22 PM Redskins | Team meets with Porter Mon, 21 Apr 2008 10:23:30 -0700 In an interview on SIRIUS NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) Radio The SIRIUS Blitz, University of Indiana CB Tracy Porter (http://www.kffl.com/player/18255/nfl) said he met with the Washington Redskins (http://www.kffl.com/team/37/nfl). This visit has been posted since the thread started so it isn't really anything new. Anyway this just helps confirm one of the visits. Dirtbag59 04-21-2008, 07:08 PM Eat your heart out 91: Per JLC: The fact they are going back to see Kelly again was telling to many within the organization. If Kelly was off the board - or slips in the eyes of the Skins at this next meeting - Limas Sweed of Texas and Jordy Nelson of Kansas State are also high on Washington's receiver board, sources said, and either would be a candidate to be selected (Nelson recently visited Redskins Park and came away making a very strong impression, team sources said. Really gotta be fast on this one - puck about to drop - but making more calls and two names to watch this weekend for the Skins are WR Malcolm Kelly and DE Phillip Merling, team sources said. The team was finalizing trips to Oklahoma and Clemson, respectively, to meet the players one more time before the draft, likely the final visits with players before the draft this weekend. Redskins | Nelson high on team's wide receiver board Mon, 21 Apr 2008 16:38:03 -0700 Jason La Confora, of The Washington Post, reports Kansas State WR Jordy Nelson (http://www.kffl.com/player/18256/nfl) is high on the Washington Redskins (http://www.kffl.com/team/37/nfl) wide receiver draft board. Redskins | Sweed high on team's wide receiver board Mon, 21 Apr 2008 16:32:38 -0700 Jason La Confora, of The Washington Post, reports Texas WR Limas Sweed (http://www.kffl.com/player/18091/nfl) is high on the Washington Redskins (http://www.kffl.com/team/37/nfl) wide receiver draft board. SmootSmack 04-22-2008, 05:59 PM How many weeks has it been now that I've been saying keep an eye on Harrison in the 3rd/4th round? Dirtbag59 04-22-2008, 06:03 PM How many weeks has it been now that I've been saying keep an eye on Harrison in the 3rd/4th round? I've only been looking at Harriosn for maybe the past month and I want to add him to the 1st posts, but interest by the team isn't enough for me to label him as a visit. I'm the Mike Brown of the Confirmed Pre-Draft Visits thread. Dirtbag59 04-24-2008, 05:14 PM Just for SmootSlap per JLC: "Also, another name to watch on the second day of the draft is San Diego QB Josh Johnson, sources said. Johnson had a very good visit to Redskins Park and has been in touch with coach Jim Zorn, team sources said. He may not last until the 4th round, and that's a bit higher than where the Skins would probably like to take a QB given he would be a project and behind Campbell and Todd Collins for a while, but it's certainly worth watching with Zorn so closely tied to the QB position." SeanTaylor21 04-24-2008, 06:19 PM "Nelson's only on-site NFL visit came this past week when the Washington Redskins wined and dined the former Wildcat wide receiver on Tuesday and Wednesday. "They just said they were interested and wanted to see how I might fit in with their team," said Nelson, who is ranked as the 8th best receiver entering the draft after entering the NFL Combine in February ranked between 11th to 15th. "I went out to eat with the owner, head coach and position coach, toured the facility, and met some of the players. They just wanted to find out what kind of person I am." I hope they pick him, he would be a great addition to our team.
