Oh, so now its back on McCain. Don't you say the same thing when others say stuff like Clinton got this mess started or if Clinton would have just done the job etc... ?

I don't think Matty was trying to attack McCain. I think he was just saying that politicians from both parties fool around.

Thank you for getting my simple point.

Which IS an attack on McCain.

A lot do fool around, if I recall like 70% of the country does it, but very, very view base their platform on "family values" like Edwards.

Like firstdown illuded to, if we're talking about some republican and Clinton is brought up for instance, people, including Matty, get upset for not sticking with the subject and making it a political war. This is not a McCain debate, this is about Edwards who is supposed to be a "morals leader". So it doesn't really matter what Matty is trying to say, it matters that he is missing the point and trying to lessen what Edwards did.

I don't recall Edwards basing his platform on "family values." He was known for supposedly championing the rights of the poor. Might he have mentioned "family values" in speeches? Sure, but he didn't base his career on it. I personally think he's a massive douche bag, but his affair isn't a big deal. I could care less what politician does with his pecker.

Also, I think it's awesome how you always say that people are "missing the point" whenever they disagree with you. :goodjob:

Nope, just when they are. If you take a gander at the thread title, do you happen to notice there is a name missing up there...like McCain for instance? So does EVERY political comment have to include a view and slam from the opposite side? I'm sure people could turn this into an Obama issue too if you'd like.

ps- stop assuming. I am not disagreeing with what he's saying, far from it actually, he's just off point. This isn't about McCain, or Obama, or Clinton. It's about Edwards. They all could have their own respective threads about things they have done wrong. If you think for one second that Matty wasn't trying to take a jab at McCain, well, I have ocean front property I can sell you.

Um no, good try but you're really reading too far into what my point was. Thanks for trying to tell me what I'm trying to say though. My intent was not to bicker across party lines and say your guy did it too.

As I said before I wasn't a fan of Edwards to begin with. My simple point is this crap happens all the time on both sides and too much is made of it on both sides. Personally it's not a huge deal to me whether Edwards or McCain are scumbags to their wives. Others have echoed this same view here.

I was a scumbag to their wives for quite some time. It means nothing really.

You're not exactly one to bite your tongue when someone takes a potshot at the right. But whatever.

The irony here is hilarious.
