Don't you think we are overreacting just a bit??

I guess maybe it's just the timing of the overreactions. Week 1 and people are already pulling the plug.

Just keep in mind, there are people such as myself that have remained calm, and understand the situation. Do I like the loss, absolutely not, but we can afford to have 6 more of these and still make the playoffs...I am not worried, nor am I even close to hitting the panic button.

I think the main issue is fans are offensively minded. I am positive if the score was 42-21 then the bashing would not be nearly as high.

I personally think it is great our D still looks good(against the SB champs I might add) after being ripped apart a couple times in the preseason.

Let's be honest, you can't except a first year coach and team learning a new offense, to throw up 30 points against SB champs. That is just unrealistic.

I think a major concern is the oline, and heyer's mistakes. The penalties really killed an offensive that needed all the help it could get.

People are acting like the score was 41-3 instead of 16-7.

I don't' know if you saw the Giants but they absolutely sucked. They are not the team that they were last year. Eli played poorly and lot of teams will take advantage of them as a team this year.

We couldn't even compete with them as a team. We made a ass of ourselves in the national spotlight. I think it was that bad and I don't think I'm overreacting.

As long as the offense looks that inept then there is cause for concern. They had four months to prep and looked like they just found out about the game the previous day.

Matt Ryan is a new player, on a new team with a new head coach and he managed not to make a complete ass of himself during a live NFL game. You'd think given those circumstances that Campbell and the Skins wouldn't have laid an egg during the game they've prepped 4 months for.

Matt Ryan had the benefit of Turner rushing for 220 yards and 2 scores. The TEAM had 318 yards rushing for pete's sake. Washington relied on Campbell, Atlanta did not rely on Ryan at all, as evident with his meezly 13 attempts to 42 rushing attempts. Your comparison makes no sense when presented with the actual facts.

Also, the Giants didn't suck...they dominated the first half...it wasn't until we played some D that they had difficulty in the 2nd half.

OK guys, I'm going to say this one last time, cause apparently we have some pretty ignorant fans here...CAMPBELL IS STARTING A NEW SYSTEM, AND HE IS STARTING IT WITH A HEAD COACH THAT HAS 0 EXPERIENCE AS A HEAD COACH OR AN OC!!!! Holy shit people, give it time. If you expected us to have a great team out of the gates, then it isn't Campbell or Zorn that is sucking...it is YOU that is an idiot.

Then why didn't the Lions set out to stop the run and put 8 or 9 guys in the box and let Ryan beat you passing. The Lions Def- Coor- is not a moron. That didn't happen, and the Falcons comparatively looked Super Bowl champions to the performance we gave on THU.

It's not the fact that I want the Skins to dominate it's the fact that I'd like them to compete.

They looked horribly inept on THU. You can give Campbell and Zorn as many rationalizations as you would like. Ryan is working with a lot more obstacles than Campbell is and he managed to pull off a COMPETITIVE performance.

You're giving me reasons why Campbell didn't dominate or win the game but can you give me some as to why he wasn't even competitive?

...Save your caps for someone who dignifies your responses.

He didn't remind anyone of Tom Brady, but did he really play like sh*t? Is 56% completion, a TD, an 81.6% QB rating and no turnovers playing like sh*t? He didn't look great but to read the boards you would have thought we had a blind hippo playing QB and he single handedly cost us the game.

After a couple days to think about it, maybe JC playing like s*** is an overreaction. He didn't play well, but that could be said for the whole team i think.

Based on the week 1 JC backlash off of his 15-27, 133, TD, 0 INT performance the internets will be ablaze across the NFL nation with cries of 'BENCH ________' for these Week 1 standouts:

Matt Hasselbeck 17-41, 190, TD, INT-Hail Senaca Wallace!
Marc Bulger 14-26, 158, 0 TD, 0 INT-Free Trent Green!
Carson Palmer 10-25, 99, 0 TD, 1 INT-Put in, uh, uh, whoever..
Derek Anderson 11-24, 114, TD, 0 INT-They gave up Charlie Frye for that?

Or maybe other fan bases realize that it's just one week and there are 15 more games to be played..

I am already very tired of this stuff.

Here's what's gonna happen. We'll play the season and see what goes down.

Prediction: Skins fans (like most fans) will react as they always do: like fanatics.

Bingo. The one thing I get sick of is the notion that all of this "overreaction" is somehow peculiar to Redskins fans.

Please.

Thank you GMScud. It took two years for Hasselbeck to become a top QB. JC just needs time. And for those who said Zorn lays the blame on the players is not true. He said right off the bat that he wishs he had plays back, and that the clock managment was bad. Hes new to this too people. Football is a little bit harder down on the field then it is in your PS3 people. Gibbs went 0-5 in his first 5 games in 1981, to later finish 8-8......then next year.....hummmm....

Marty Schottenheimer also started 0-5 here, later to finish 8-8.

Then next year ... hummmm ... it was Steve Spurrier. Let's hope Dan Snyder has the same sort of eternal patience some of the fans here have.

I'll see you in four weeks when the bottom drops out.

Til then enjoy your stay in denial.
