Smoot has been just dreadful. I hate to say that because Smoot was one of my favorite players, but, unfortunately, it's true.

He's been MISERABLE. I want to know what happened to Carlos today. I barely saw him on the field at all, and Smoot a ton. Anyone know anything?

Los just got the shoes changed on his two hoofs and they're very sore. I guess it hurts like hell.

I saw him several times. Hell, one time the announcers even mention the Skins were playing their base D, but still had him, Hall and Springs in there with Landry being the only true safety.

If the coaches don't think Tryon will step it up in a big way, I think we should sign a 2nd tier corner like Miller, McQuarters or Buchanon.

We also have Byron Westbrook on the practive squad.

Springs was basically healthy for all of '07, this year was a return to his usual delicateness.

Well he played 30 of 32 games in 2004 and 2005, and didn't he break his wrist or something like that in 2006 causing him to miss half that season? I don't think he's quite the fragile doll he's portrayed to be.

He's been pretty fragile this year.

As to who started and who didn't -- it's pretty clear that Blache, like Gregg Williams before him, don't get hung up on who's starting, or who is classified as #1 or #2. Seems like all the secondary guys are basically interchangeable. Depending on health, who's had better practices, who matches up better against opposing receivers, the defensive coaching staff just goes with the best guy possible -- and all of them will see plenty of playing time.

With everything that's wrong with this team, I am perfectly comfortable with whatever they do with the secondary week to week.

Springs when he's on the field makes a big impact for this team. The question is can he stay healthy and is he worth his cap # next year?

I would sign Hall to a five year deal. Corners are hard to find, just ask Dallas. Who has better corners? Nobody! When you can start Hall, Rogers, and Springs and still have Smoot on the bench. We just need more DL pressure.

If Springs was smart he would renegotiate to stay here. If he thinks that another team is going to pay premium prices for a 34 year old player with a history of injury problems, then his view of reality is warped. Nobody is going to sign him for more than the veteran minimum.
