budw38 12-22-2008, 09:52 PM Oh I remember it very well. Although his stats look very well he was not happy cause he was not allowed to roam around and be the playmaker he was in Chicago. That changed the last few years he was here as Ritchie unleashed him a bit more but it was tough at first. And I didn't say he struggled, I'm saying just cause a free agent is talented doesn't mean he can just come in and fit our scheme and I used Marshall as an example. Hey ,, I never struggled ,,, WM . I think Ritchie P. actually had Marshall playing strongside backer the 1st year or two , and you are correct , he was not make the " big plays " . But , when Petibon set him loose ,,,, awesome . We need a pass rusher at DE , until we find one , we will not be dominant on Defense . OL should also be our first priority . If we can find a lineman on both sides of the ball and have D. Thomas or Kelly make an impact next year ,, we could challenge for the NFC East Title .
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 12-22-2008, 10:02 PM Free agents
LB Karlos Dansby
OT Jordan Gross/Vernon Carey
DB Daven Holly
Draft (trade down)
OG Duke Robinson
DT SenDerrick Marks
DE Connor Barwin
RB Shon Greene
I'd be thrilled with that kind of offseason.
53Fan 12-22-2008, 10:08 PM I think you're remembering incorrectly, here's his stat line during his career in Washington:
1988: 133 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 INTs
1989: 108 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 INT
1990: 107 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 INT
1991: 135 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 5 INTs
1992: 138 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 INTs

And just going by what I remember, I don't recall him struggling at all. He was one of the best LBs we've had here.
Wilber was a damn good pick-up for us. Was'nt he one of the first freeagent signings back in the day? All I remember him doing was playing great. One of my favorite players at the time.

30gut 12-22-2008, 11:27 PM I think we have a 1,3,5,7(?)
I would try and trade some players for draft picks if they hurt the cap.
Like Betts and Todd Collins (i have no idea about their cap numbers)
You think Betts could get a 4th and a 6th?
Then i would trade the 1st pick for 2 picks, hopefully a later 1st and a 2nd or 2 2nd round picks.
Then trade the one the 2nd round picks for a 3rd and 4th.
Then i would draft BPA: DL x 2, OL x 3, LB, RB
53Fan 12-22-2008, 11:31 PM 7th rounder went for Erasmus James.
Dirtbag59 12-22-2008, 11:31 PM BJ Raji is a monster. I watched a few BC games this year and he is a total plugger. I'd love to have him. Frankly BC's entire defense was really impressive this year.
Damn your right. He's almost everything I want in a mid first round prospect. Big, tough, with a motor that doesn't stop. Of course theres apparently a concern about his character.
4- Ejected from the 2006 Central Michigan game and suspended for the first half of the Clemson game the following week after throwing a punch at a Central Michigan player. Academic issues and inability to stay eligible raise concerns about work ethic
Then again they gave a 3 to Aaron Curry the OLB from Wake Forest because:"Wake Forest didn't start Curry in the 2007 Navy game because he missed a class earlier in the week"
According to the scale of 1-5 three is considered average while four is considered below average. Which is fair because I know I can't forgive someone for missing class, but in all seriousness Wake Forest is anal about the character of their players and giving a guy a 3 for missing class just doesn't seem right.
Actually speaking of linebackers I wouldn't mind in the least if the team made a strong pull for Rey Maualuga or James Laurinaitis assuming one of them is capable of playing OLB for the time being and at the same time we find a way to get a massive DT that can generate a push up the middle.

You must be a USC fan. I'm not a huge fan of Cushing or Mathews they remind me of a more hyped Dallas Sartz and they have virtually the same stats and measurables.
SBXVII 12-23-2008, 01:33 AM We still have one more game to swipe Dre Moore from the Bucs. Everyone here was commenting on how he was a monster young talent.
SBXVII 12-23-2008, 01:51 AM according to Zorn....in reference to Suisham;
“The only concern I have is wanting him to start getting into a rhythm. That’s the only concern I have.
He’ll just see another kicker to compete against and they’ll go at it. But as soon as he finds his rhythm, I think he’ll be lights out again.
according to Zorn ...in reference to Plackemeier;
“Remember this: for me, it’s the same issue as Ryan Plackemeier. Here’s a guy with great talent, came in here, was kicking horribly. He knew it, we knew it, what are we gonna do about it? Do we just move him on and just get the next guy in? There’s kind of a group of punters and a group of kickers and they all rotate until they find a home, and what the do when they find a home, you know what they do? They get coached and they find their rhythm.”
Hmmm. I thought it was all about "Execution" and now he throws in some new word.........rhythm. We definitly need to bring in some other talent for kicking. If he truely thought it was about coaching he would have found a way to keep the kicker from the draft and (cough, cough) coached him up.
